It’s Me Cheongju branch, double eyelid partial incision + ptosis correction, 3-year review I had it done in the winter break of 9th grade, right before I entered high school. I thought double eyelid surgery was something a lot of people get and has few side effects, so it seemed fine to do it in Cheongju. This was the first place I went for a consultation. I was told you should usually visit several places for double eyelid consultations, but I was satisfied with the consultation here and the price wasn’t burdensome, so I decided right away without going anywhere else. 1. Consultation First, the female manager who consulted with me was very kind. The explanation was detailed, and she only recommended exactly what was necessary, nothing beyond that, so I could consult without feeling pressured. But the doctor was in the middle of a procedure, so I couldn’t see his face. Since I was a student, I was told that an incision could leave a scar, so I got a partial incision, and if it loosened later when I became a college student, they would do the full incision for free. My mom also remembered it that way. But when I asked again recently, they said it’s free only if it loosens within 1 year; after that, a reoperation fee applies, and I was pretty annoyed. 2. My eyes I originally had a double eyelid, but the line was different every day, and the line changed depending on swelling and condition, so it was stressful. That’s why I endured it throughout middle school, and eventually couldn’t take it anymore and got the surgery. I have no fat in my eyes to begin with, and my eyes didn’t need canthoplasty, so this was a case of only getting double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction!! 3. Side effects and after surgery I had sleep anesthesia, and after waking up I stayed in the recovery room for about 30 minutes. There was zero pain.. seriously, I’m not lying, I was scared, but right after it stung a little and even that went away after sleeping and waking up. I got the prescription from the pharmacy downstairs at the hospital, went home, applied ointment, and spent the time doing cold and warm compresses. In short, it didn’t hurt at all.. 4. 3-year review The line has settled to fit my eyes, so even friends who had known me for a long time didn’t notice at all unless I told them first. That’s how natural it is. The major swelling lasted 1 month, and the lingering swelling lasted another 3 to 4 months, but that seems partly because I was sloppy with the eye compresses. A friend of mine got the same double eyelid surgery through my recommendation, and for her the swelling went down completely in one month. But both my friend and I have one thing in common: when you just look at us, it’s hard to tell, but in photos one side is a little lower, so they’re uneven. But it’s not the kind of unevenness that looks weird or obvious, so other people don’t notice even if you tell them. I guess it’s just a self-satisfaction thing? At the 1-month checkup I mentioned that the line was different, and they said one side had a thinner line so they had to pinch it more strongly, and that once the swelling went down it would even out, but there is still some difference left. Personally it doesn’t bother me that much, but as someone who likes taking photos and is sensitive, it’s a bit annoying? 5. Overall review Something I later found out is that this place is cheap because the doctor is a freelance doctor. But the skill is good for the price, so the results are good. Two friends of mine went here through my recommendation, and they all turned out well. But if you’re very sensitive about photos or appearance, you might as well go to Seoul and get it done there!! This place feels like value-for-money double eyelid surgery? Recommended for people who want to look naturally prettier but find Seoul too burdensome 6. + Extra The director seems tired because he has a lot of procedures, and he isn’t super friendly. It probably won’t matter if you don’t care about that kind of thing. Also, the partial incision + ptosis correction was 1.0 million won, and with tax included it came to 1.1 million won. I had the stitches removed a week later, and when I went back for a checkup at the 1-month mark, it was over in about 5 minutes, which felt a bit anticlimactic. The total price was 1.1 million won!
