My nose used to be like this... there was a slight hump in the middle, but the bridge bone itself was a bit wide sideways..?? On top of that, both when I smiled and when I was just sitting still, the nostrils spread outward too, so it gave a very typical bulbous-nose look and made my impression seem dull No matter how hard I contoured my nose with makeup, from the front it always looked broad and flat, which stressed me out my whole life Actually, when I was looking into clinics, I spent several days thoroughly digging through reviews of people with a similar hump nose + bulbous nose combination on this community? Then I kept noticing a review about one director who produced exactly the clean straight-but-slightly-raised line I wanted, without being overdone. The style didn’t look like an obviously operated-on nose, but more like a sophisticated improvement from the original nose, so I thought this was it and booked right away I really went as soon as I had time and started the consultation. The director looked at my CT scan and explained my nose structure very carefully. He said that if only the hump were shaved down a little, the bridge could end up looking flat and the nose might actually seem wider. He said the wider side bone area needed to be slightly brought in with partial osteotomy so it would look slimmer from the front! And for the tip, he said he would use my septal cartilage to build a firm support, and he explained the bulbous nostrils as either lateral or medial and said we should improve them by reducing them just enough to keep the proportions balanced without overdoing it. I’m really a scaredy-cat, so I complained, saying, “Doctor, if I go through osteotomy and also reduce the nostrils, what if it looks too obviously done or makes my face look too strong?” Then the doctor held up a mirror and shaped the line with his hand, saying that if anything is done too much for my facial proportions, of course it will look awkward, and that he would lightly refine the hump and make the nostrils just microscopically smaller by only the amount needed so it would look smooth like my original nose, so not to worry. I felt completely reassured and trusted him, so I set the date on the spot, put down the deposit, and just waited for the surgery day.. On the day of surgery, I went to the hospital, got a brief explanation from the manager, changed into the surgical gown, then met the doctor again and watched him draw the final design on my nose with a pen, and the tension was unreal When I got into the operating room and lay down, my heart was pounding like crazy, but once the sleep anesthesia started, my memory cut off completely When I woke up, I was in the recovery room and had gauze under my nose. On the day of surgery and for 2 to 3 days after, my nose was packed with cotton so I had to breathe only through my mouth, and the worst part was how dry my throat got At night, sleeping with my mouth open made my throat hurt, so I kept waking up and falling asleep repeatedly.. Yellow bruising and swelling appeared under my eyes and around my cheeks, but oddly enough, the pain was not that bad considering I had osteotomy? I kept doing ice packs and lived on pumpkin juice. Then the day came to remove the splint and stitches, and honestly, when they took out the stitches around the nostrils, it hurt a little and I teared up a bit? But the moment the splint came off and the doctor showed me the mirror, I literally screamed inside.. Even though yellow bruising was still left, the line was so pretty The hump that used to be indented became smooth, and because I had osteotomy, the width of my nose from the front was clearly slimmer! Now most of the swelling is gone and it has settled in place, so there’s no artificial feeling at all. What I like most is that since the septal cartilage was used to build up the tip, the side profile line is seriously insane The nostrils were tightened up completely, so the bulbous-nose look from the front disappeared and it feels heavenly,, I was really worried the swelling would last a long time because they did osteotomy and the hump too, but maybe the doctor’s hands are that good, because recovery was fast and the line came out exactly how I wanted. These days I feel good every time I look in the mirror. I hope there will be no revision surgery in my life I just want it to stay exactly like this. I had the surgery at Saegim!
