I did have a bulbous nose and a dorsal hump, but I didn’t think it was that severe. Then at some point I started thinking, why does my nose not look pretty?? If only my nose looked a bit better, I felt like I’d look so much more balanced, and that’s when I decided to go for it. I’m the type who has to act right away once I make up my mind, so within a month I went to consultations at several clinics and found one I liked, then had my surgery at D-Day. The reason I wanted a one-doctor clinic was that factory-style hospitals where surgeries are just run through one after another were scary to me, because I had no idea how my nose would turn out. So I set my criteria clearly as a director with 10+ years of experience + a one-doctor clinic (three or fewer surgeries a day) and chose my clinic based on that. Everyone has different criteria when choosing a clinic, but if you look with something like this in mind, it becomes a little easier to decide. I told the doctor I wanted a nose with dimension from the front, and since my alae were a little wide, I wanted it refined and slim without a bulbous-nose look. My ideal style is a glamorous, straight-but-slightly-upturned line, so I also brought photos of that kind of nose surgery to clearly explain exactly what I wanted, and then had the surgery. After the nose surgery, even the area between my eyebrows swelled up. It didn’t hurt, but because of the swelling my face felt so stuffy I just wanted the swelling to go down quickly. Still, by the second week after surgery, the swelling along the bridge had gone down a lot, so I could wear makeup and go out, and I think from this point on I started feeling more satisfied with the nose surgery. I especially liked my side profile, so I keep taking selfies only from the side. Now the nose height has settled lower than at the beginning, so everything feels a bit more natural, and maybe because the center of my face is more balanced, my features look more compact and defined, which is why I’m satisfied with the nose surgery.
