I’d been worried every day because the silicone was showing, and this time a friend said she was getting nose surgery, so I suddenly started looking into revision rhinoplasty. At first I was going to do revision surgery, but at ㅁㅋ they said it seemed like I could just remove the silicone, so I shifted my direction toward removal and looked into that instead. But the more I looked into it, the more my head hurt..... If anyone has been to a place that’s blacklisted, or had surgery at one of the clinics I consulted, please leave info in the comments. I’m honestly going crazy I live in the provinces, so even going to consultations is so hard.
1. ㅁㅇㄷ I went because a friend had surgery there and reserved an appointment. The coordinator pressured me to book the same day. The surgeon was kind. I liked that they showed photos edited in Photoshop. They said because of the autologous costal cartilage support + low height, silicone was needed, and because my skin was thin, they’d reinforce with autologous dermis. They also wanted to add a lot of extra charges for things like lowering the columella and alar base, and so on. I think it was open surgery, but I don’t really remember..
2. ㄷㅇ(ㅣㅔㄹ) The surgeon here is also kind. They said to use autologous costal cartilage support + pound up the autologous costal cartilage and wrap it in fascia to put into the bridge. There were also a lot of extra charges here for things like the alar base. They were kind and the price was decent, so I was leaning toward them, but I felt a bit pressured by the idea of pounding up the autologous costal cartilage, so I hesitated. When I worried that the autologous costal cartilage would not be absorbed evenly if it was pounded up, the doctor said it would only be 2 mm, so it wouldn’t matter. Open surgery.
3. ㅁㅋ I went because the after photos were pretty. Originally I was going to consult with the head surgeon, but after hearing my desired look (natural) the coordinator said the head surgeon mostly works on problematic noses, and that if her acquaintances came in, she would recommend surgeon ㄱㅅㅂ. I was hesitant, and the coordinator recommended various things like alar base work, but when the surgeon looked at me, he said there was no need to make it complicated, and that the more you touch the nose, the worse it gets, so leave the other areas alone and just remove or replace the silicone and trim the tip cartilage. He said it could be done very simply. He said he does not recommend autologous dermis in non-open surgery because of absorption. The fact that he said not to touch all sorts of things and just remove the silicone made him seem like he wasn’t overdoing it.. I hadn’t been thinking about removal, but after hearing this, I added more consultations at clinics focused on removal.
4. ㅇㅇ(ㅏㄹㅠ) I went here after seeing it in a forum... it was truly the most expensive of all... The coordinator was not great, and when I said the price was high they said the price would go up even more in August. I consulted in July. The cost was insanely high, and looking at the people there, the noses all had a flashy feel, so I passed. Open surgery, pound up the autologous costal cartilage + DCF, make a mold out of it and put it into the bridge. They told me to pay out of pocket for a pre-op health check too (ㅁㅇㄷ and ㄷㅇ were free). The surgeon was extremely kind and spent a long time on the consultation, answering everything I didn’t understand kindly.

5. ㅍㄹㅁ The surgeon was kind, the coordinator was kind. They checked with ultrasound. The silicone is old, and there is inflammation and unevenness under the silicone. Usually silicone should be replaced after about 10 years. After removing the silicone, they would check the tip cartilage repositioning, and if the height was too low or there was a step-off, they would reinforce with Megaderm. According to the doctor, Megaderm is a safe material, and although a lot is absorbed in the first surgery, in revision surgery there is more space, so it is not absorbed as much as in a first surgery. So they said they usually recommend silicone for first surgeries and use Megaderm a lot for revision surgeries. They said the columella and other things would probably be fine if operated on, so don’t touch them. Non-open surgery.
6. ㅅㅅㅇ There were really no people there. Honestly, during the consultation the doctor should recommend things and explain possible scenarios, but they just listened and wrote it down in the chart. They didn’t even palpate;;;; It felt like they would just do whatever the patient said unless it was something completely impossible. At first I said the silicone was showing, so they talked about replacing the silicone; when I said I didn’t want silicone, they started talking about removal. Then when I mentioned autologous dermis and Megaderm, they said it would be absorbed and feel soft, so why use it, it gets absorbed, and so on, then wrote in the chart that Megaderm could be used.. It felt like they kept changing their position. Open surgery was possible, non-open surgery was also possible, basically everything was “we’ll do whatever you want.” The front desk staff seemed kind, but the consultation coordinator was extremely bad? While I was consulting, they said, “You seem to be changing your mind back and forth right now, so call the first clinic, check what material they used, and come back later.” But the surgeon himself only wrote down everything I said during the consultation and never said what was better or what should be done, so what was I supposed to say;;; I honestly thought that’s what I was going there for, so it annoyed me. If that’s the case, I could just decide the surgery direction myself and go When I said, “Shouldn’t you be telling me the surgical direction?” they said that they only do that for first surgeries, not revisions~ Anyway, this place has good reviews, but it was just so-so for me.
7. ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ I went because I was tempted by the reviews. After making the reservation, I kept browsing until the appointment day, and with the talk about blacklists and skill issues, I did get a bit unsure, but I still went. The surgeon seemed extremely confident. He said that after removing the silicone, if the tip cartilage was showing, lowering it by cutting the septum would keep the cartilage from protruding out (here he was talking about shortening the septal length, not just repositioning). He said that after silicone removal, because it had been pressed down for a long time, it might be uneven, but it might also return, so he would leave it alone. He said that if I came in with a detailed idea of the nose shape I wanted, he would consult again before surgery and operate to match that shape. When I asked whether it could be done with non-open surgery, he said who would do this with non-open surgery, it can’t be done, and “Isn’t it open surgery by default?” so I said no, and he told me to lift my nose and showed me... Then he asked where I had it done, searched for the clinic, and bad-mouthed the clinic... saying it was a clinic, not a hospital.... And when I asked about cartilage tying, he said it could be done or it might not be done;;; Since it’s not opening the columella and only shortening the length, I thought they probably wouldn’t do it, but the fact that he said they might do it was a bit off-putting Especially since I had previously found a post while researching reviews saying they had poor skill and used a different surgical method, so I was a bit uneasy.. The coordinator was.. a bit....... chaotic and didn’t really understand what I was saying. After the surgeon consultation, when I was talking to the coordinator, they didn’t even seem to look at the chart, and even though it wasn’t an L-shaped silicone, they said it was L-shaped silicone... They didn’t really consult properly and it just felt like showing off reviews, so I really disliked the coordinator consultation... I even noticed dirt under their fingernails The more consultations I do, the more empty I feel. Originally, if I hadn’t mentioned removal at ㅁㅋ, I was going to go to ㄷㅇ, but after mentioning removal, I looked into it more and my head got confused. I feel like the height might end up too low,, As far as the consultation itself goes, ㅍㄹㅁ appealed to me the most. So I want to do it there, but... The Megaderm reviews aren’t good But putting silicone back in scares me.... If anyone has experience, please share your reviews... please I’m planning to visit ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ! And I also saw bad aftercare reviews for ㅅㅇ here. I messaged them on KakaoTalk to change my date, but they said they were fully booked, so I said I’d just go that day. Then I had a scheduling conflict and said I wanted to cancel, but they left me on read^^ So I just removed them from my list!
