It’s already been about a year since my medial canthoplasty restoration, so I’m leaving a review!
I never actually had medial canthoplasty before, but by nature the inner corners of my eyes were shaped a bit like hooks. Because of that, people around me would sometimes say it looked like I had had medial canthoplasty, and I also had a lot of lacrimal caruncle exposure, so my eyes sometimes looked slightly close-set.
More than anything, the sharp, fierce look of my eyes stressed me out the most Even when taking photos, I kept worrying that my inner eye corners made my impression look too strong, so after a lot of deliberation, I went ahead with medial canthoplasty restoration.
Now it’s been about a year since the surgery, so the shape is almost fully settled, and the part I’m happiest with is that my eye expression has definitely become softer.
The lacrimal caruncle exposure has also naturally decreased, so my eyes look less close-set than before, and my overall impression feels much gentler.
Personally, I think my softened eye shape makes me look a little younger than before More than anything, I love that my eyes don’t look obviously operated on but have settled in naturally, as if they were always my original eyes.
When choosing a clinic, the doctor’s skill was important, but since this isn’t a procedure that costs a small amount, I wanted a place where I’d feel comfortable and trust the consultation.
During the consultation, the director explained everything kindly and thoroughly from the start, and even though I was anxious and asked the same questions many times, he kept answering patiently, which I appreciated.
Right before the surgery, they also designed the eye shape very carefully to match my eyes, so I was able to go into the procedure feeling reassured.
The scar isn’t completely nonexistent, but it has faded a lot over time, and for me it’s at a level that’s barely noticeable when I wear makeup.
In daily life, it’s not something that bothers me much.
In particular, the inner corners of my eyes settled into the natural rounded-but-sharp shape I wanted, which makes me very satisfied.
It’s not so round that my eyes look cramped, but it also doesn’t emphasize the hook shape like before, so it feels just naturally balanced.
Before, when I saw photos taken by other people, I always worried that my eye expression looked too strong, but these days I come out much softer and more natural in photos, so I’m happy
