It’s been about two months since I had my mom’s upper and lower eyelid surgery, so I’m leaving a review! Honestly, at first my mom kept saying she wouldn’t do it Even when I said I’d cover the cost, she kept putting it off, saying it would just be wasteful and she felt sorry about it. But she already had quite a bit of upper eyelid drooping, and her under-eyes were puffy too, so she always looked tired even when she was just sitting still. I also often saw her using her forehead every time she opened her eyes, and in photos her eyes looked heavily pressed down, so I think she was quietly bothered by it too. That’s why I looked into eye surgery for middle-aged people and went with her to a place recommended by someone I know.
Since they said they could do the upper and lower blepharoplasty at the same time, I did worry at first about the swelling and bruising, but now that it’s been two months, my mom is the first one to say I was right to listen to my daughter lol. First, the heavy, cramped look caused by the eyelids has decreased, and the puffy under-eye area has been smoothed out more than before, so her overall expression looks much more relaxed. What my mom feels as a change is that she seems to use less forehead tension when opening her eyes. From my side too, compared to before, the way she used to raise her forehead hard to try to open her eyes wider has definitely decreased. Most of all, it doesn’t look like she just had surgery; her original impression is still there, while only the eye area looks cleaner, and that’s what I like most. She recently went to a gathering with her friends, and apparently no one directly figured out what she had done. Instead, they said she looked better and more relaxed, and she seemed quietly happy when she came home lol. In the beginning she also said there was a little pulling sensation and dryness, and I worried because the swelling didn’t go down identically on both sides, but over time they gradually became more similar and more natural, so now my mom is very satisfied. At first I worried I might have recommended it for no reason, and I was anxious too, but these days when I see how much brighter her expression is in the mirror, I feel like I made the right choice for her
