First of all, I’m male, and my nose has a pretty pronounced hump, a high bridge, and a bulbous tip. If the spectrum is natural - semi-glam - glamorous, I want something between natural and semi-glam. Since I’m a man, I didn’t want it to look obvious.
At all the clinics, the consultation order was consultant (desired areas) - director - consultant (price, summary). 1. ㅇㅇㅂ - ㄱㅈㅇ Consultation fee: x Wait: The waiting time was long. I don’t remember exactly, but by the time I finished everything and came out, 2 hours had passed.. keep that in mind CT scan O, facial photo shoot O As soon as I arrived, I filled out paperwork, then had the CT and photos taken, and consulted in the order of consultant - director - consultant. Diagnosis: osteotomy, hump shaving, silicone, septal cartilage, donated rib cartilage or autologous costal cartilage (rib cartilage, crooked nose, long nose, hump nose, bulbous nose, osteotomy) Cost (late 8 million KRW / provisional deposit + early 6 million KRW with review): If you’re curious, I’ll tell you in the comments / the provisional deposit is 100,000 KRW, and they said they refund it if you don’t have surgery
- There were a lot of people. There were also a few men. - The consultation was good. The consultant was kind, and what the consultant diagnosed was similar to the director’s method. There was a little pressure to pay a deposit (there’s a big difference between putting down even a provisional deposit and not doing so). - The director was fun too, and he explained various things while looking at the CT, but he did seem busy, kind of rushed? He said my nose looked like a Westerner’s nose and that even if he made it as natural as possible, it would still turn out glamorous. I don’t remember exactly, but I think he said I had a lot of septal cartilage, but compared with that my nose was high, so rib cartilage would be needed. He didn’t mention ear cartilage. It seems like they almost always use rib cartilage. - He explained while holding a cotton swab against my nose. Autologous costal cartilage and donated rib cartilage cost the same. Honestly, the price was scary, so that bothered me a bit. The director said my nose was masculine and decent, so I should either not touch it at all or, if I do touch it, do everything that needs to be done.
Overall: Since it was my first consultation, I went without knowing much, so I couldn’t feel relaxed. Still, they did everything they were supposed to, but even though it would be my first surgery, the cost was like revision-surgery level, and I didn’t really want to use rib cartilage, so I’m putting it on hold for now.
2. ㅍㄹㅇㅂ - ㅇㅈㅎ Consultation fee: x Wait: There wasn’t much of a wait during the time I went, so it was quick. CT scan x, facial photo shoot o Diagnosis: hump nose, bulbous nose, osteotomy, donated rib cartilage (if septal cartilage is insufficient), silicone optional Cost (early 6 million KRW / early 5 million KRW with review). If donated rib cartilage is not used, the corresponding amount is refunded.
- The consultant was kind, and the director was also kind and gave a detailed consultation. Maybe it was because I had already experienced a consultation before going, but compared with the previous clinic, it felt a bit calmer? He answered all my questions. No pressure to pay a deposit. - He explained while drawing pictures. - He also said my nose looked like a Westerner’s nose. He said the bridge is high, but compared with that, the nasal tip is lacking. (Long nose, arrow-shaped nose) - He said I could go without an implant, but if the hump is removed, a slightly uneven feeling may remain, so silicone would probably be better. - He didn’t recommend ear cartilage. Since my nose has a hump, there is a high possibility that I have a lot of septal cartilage, so the chance of not using rib cartilage is high, but if it is insufficient, he would use it.
Overall: The clinic has a great view. The consultation itself was more comfortable than at ㅇㅇㅂ, but I don’t want to use rib cartilage, and I wouldn’t know for sure until the day of surgery, so that bothered me a bit. Other than that, the consultation was good, so I recommend getting a consultation there.
3. ㅇㅂㄹ - ㄱㄷㅇ Consultation fee: 10,000 KRW (paid in advance when booking) Wait: There wasn’t much of a wait, so it ended quickly. CT scan o, facial photo shoot x (they didn’t take facial photos from the left, right, above, etc. like other clinics) Diagnosis: autologous tissue, no implant, septal cartilage + ear cartilage, bulbous nose, long nose, hump nose, osteotomy Cost (early 5 million KRW / mid 4 million KRW with review)
- I went with expectations because people in this community said the consultation was good, and even with those expectations, I felt the consultation was good. The director was kind and funny, and he explained a lot of cases using surgical data and before-and-after photos of people who had given permission to disclose their photos. He started with small talk, so the consultation felt comfortable. - He also showed surgery photos (they were gross lolololol). - The consultation itself wasn’t long, but that was because I didn’t have anything more to ask. It matched the direction I had in mind very well, and the surgical method was what I wanted as well (no implant if possible + no rib cartilage), so I think I only asked about differences from the previous clinics. Since I had gained consultation experience and went in with information, the conversation went smoothly. Rather, the director asked me whether we weren’t finishing too quickly, and explained more about the surgical method and materials, and showed photos. - He said my septal cartilage was very, very large and that there was no need to use rib cartilage. - He said that if a guardian accompanies you, the guardian can watch the CCTV in real time. - He said my nasal bridge is sufficiently high, so no implant would be fine. (I asked because this differed from the previous clinics, and he explained while showing surgical cases.) - Absolutely no pressure to pay a deposit. - It was convenient because they also sent the diagnosis results and cost via KakaoTalk. - Blood tests are done 2 weeks before surgery, and he said the director personally checks the postoperative progress. - The consultant was extremely kind and pretty. She felt like an older sister I know, so I felt comfortable, and she seemed naturally beautiful (not that I know for sure^^).
Overall: I went because people in this community said the consultation was good, and the consultation really was good, so I recommend it. The price was also the best (because they don’t use silicone here), and I like that it can be done without an implant and without rib cartilage, so so far I like this place the most. They seem to prioritize safety, so as a man who prefers a natural look, I actually liked that, but women often prefer semi-glam to glamorous, so I can’t say this is definitely the place for everyone.
Review: If I had to choose one of the three, I think I’d go with ㅇㅂㄹ, but for now I’ll finish visiting more clinics and then decide.
