They said it was a simple non-open procedure, but in reality it is a surgery with a very large range of manipulation. In the end, most of the cartilage particles are absorbed anyway (they call it augmentation, but it gets absorbed). When I later need revision surgery, the ear cartilage that could have been used is gone, and all I get is scar tissue. It does not end up smooth like an implant or soft like filler, but with some ambiguous texture?? Given the price and what I lose, it does not seem like a reasonable surgery.
