I had the hardware removed after contouring surgery. I had three-contour surgery two years ago, and I suffered so much back then that I never even imagined removing the hardware, but maybe because my skin is thin, the cheekbone hardware area kept bothering me. I am kind of a fragile type, so I bump into things a lot and kept feeling uneasy, so I decided it would be better to remove the hardware and went ahead with it. Even during dental treatment or when getting X-rays, the hardware would show up, which was a bit awkward, but once it was out, everything looked neat. After the hardware removal, the pain and swelling were not severe.
