I had severe dark circles, so I visited four clinics in Gangnam. Three of them said that with my eyes right now, just lower blepharoplasty wouldn’t work and that I’d absolutely need fat grafting to get the look I wanted, but this place said lower blepharoplasty alone would be enough to brighten my face. In the end, the three clinics were right. I didn’t have enough fat under my eyes, so it actually made the dark circles worse. However, I’m satisfied that because the fat had folded over and made two aegyo-sal lines when I smiled, flattening the fat made those lines disappear. For the first five months, the nerves felt a bit numb, but now at 8 months they’ve returned to normal. The doctor was kind and the staff were very nice, but it’s disappointing that even after doing an ultrasound diagnosis, they couldn’t predict the post-op result (other places just pressed under my eyes by hand and said I absolutely needed fat grafting). I don’t regret the lower blepharoplasty, but I do think that if I were going to do it anyway, I should have gone somewhere that would have done fat grafting too (this place doesn’t do fat grafting).
