Eye Surgery Considerations

Dr. Kwon Won-seok community review

I visited Risum in Apgujeong. At another hospital, ultrasound confirmed that there was a support structure in the columella, and the place where I had my surgery also clearly confirmed that the columella support had been made with ear cartilage. I also went to consult doctors who are very famous for nose surgery (not removal, but full nose surgery), and after feeling around they said there was a columella support. Here, they touched it a few times and said there was none. Even when I told the doctor several times that a support had been placed in the columella (I did not mention the ultrasound because I was worried it might be awkward), they still said there was none, so I was like, well.. There are many good surgeons in my country, so I do not have much regret that my options narrowed. But after going through seven consultations with famous, older doctors who have built noses so big they could build buildings with them, this was the first time I felt so unpleasant when leaving a clinic. Being firm and brief without extra words, scolding me, and becoming quiet if I did not ask questions - those things other people may also experience. But this was the first time I left feeling unpleasant because of a confrontational tone and only being met with evasive counterquestions when I asked things, while they half-heartedly handled the consultation and sent me out. What I felt while going around for consultations was that there are many famous doctors who do lots of revision and reconstruction, and even if they are not especially empathetic or kind in front of the patient, they do answer questions and take the consultation seriously. That did not feel like this place. The facility is very nice, though. But when I asked the manager, 'Is this a removal-specialist place?' they said it was a removal and revision specialist place, but this place?
