The biggest thing I felt after getting Smile LASIK was that recovery was fast. During the preoperative testing and consultation, I was told that because I had severe astigmatism and my corneal thickness was generally irregular, Smile LASIK might be difficult. However, after the director personally examined my eyes, they said that at this level it seemed like something we could try, so I went ahead with the surgery with trust. On the day of surgery, there was a waiting period of more than 15 minutes after the anesthetic drops were put in, and overall the waiting time felt somewhat long. On the other hand, the actual surgery itself took only about 10 minutes, so it finished much faster than I expected. Right after surgery, my eyes were extremely dry and uncomfortable for about 3 hours, but after taking the painkiller prescribed by the hospital and using the eye drops, then sleeping and waking up, the symptoms eased a lot and I felt much better. After that, recovery went on without major discomfort. The surgery itself was almost painless, and compared with how nervous I had been, it went relatively smoothly. I was satisfied that I could return to daily life starting the next day because recovery was so fast, and the biggest advantage felt like being able to live without glasses or contact lenses. Overall, I thought it was a vision correction surgery with high safety and satisfaction.
