After LASIK 20 years ago, my vision dropped again, so I started wearing glasses, but it was so inconvenient that I went in for a consultation about retreatment! Since I'm approaching the age when presbyopia will start soon too, they said that fully correcting my myopia would actually be more inconvenient, and they explained in detail how they would adjust the correction. They asked what my goal was for the correction, for example when I feel inconvenience in daily life, and I was really grateful that they planned the surgery around that. On top of that, I have rather severe dry eye, and they said the reason was blepharitis.. (I had no idea at first). Anyway, I was examined in great detail almost at the level of a health checkup, and I liked that they also consulted on how much correction to do based on the patient, so I decided to go ahead with surgery!! LASEK is definitely more painful than LASIK Still, the pain was bearable compared with what I had worried about, and above all, not having to wear glasses is so convenient! In my case, I intentionally left a little myopia because of presbyopia, and I am extremely satisfied! They are also treating the blepharitis with IPL, and my dry eye has gotten much better..
