Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

3-Month Review After Double Jaw Surgery

Hello. It has been 3 months since my double jaw surgery on December 4 last year.

I had a complex about my appearance since my school days, because people would sometimes say my jaw looked like it was protruding forward and my face looked long. My close friends would jokingly tease me about my jaw sticking out or my face being long, and I tried to laugh it off, but honestly I think I was very stressed inside. Even when taking photos, I often worried about my side profile, so I would turn my head or cover it, and little by little my confidence in my appearance kept dropping.

So after thinking about it for a long time, I eventually decided to have double jaw surgery, and now it has already been 3 months since I had double jaw surgery and contour surgery type 2 (square jaw + chin) at Yi Oral Surgery. At first, because surgery itself was such a big decision, I was very worried, and I was also scared about what the recovery process would be like. But as time passed and I saw myself recovering little by little, I now feel that I made the right decision to go through with the surgery.

At this point, 3 months later, my eating ability has recovered a lot, and I can eat most foods as long as they are not too hard. In the early stage after surgery, the foods I could eat were limited, which was frustrating and made eating feel less enjoyable, but now that I can have normal meals again, daily life has become much easier. At first my sensation felt numb, but over time most of it seems to have returned, and overall I can now go about daily life without much difference from before surgery.

I am especially satisfied with the changes in my appearance. At around one month, there was still swelling, so my face felt awkward and I thought recovery was slow, but over time the swelling gradually went down. At some point I looked in the mirror and felt that my facial line had become much more refined, and people around me also said my face had become much more natural.

These days, if I do not tell people about the surgery, many of them do not know. Some think I just lost weight or that my vibe changed, and some even say I became naturally prettier. Every time I hear that, I remember how I used to be stressed about my looks, and it feels a little surreal.

My friends also meet me often and talk a lot about the change. At first they were surprised, saying my face seemed different, but as time passed they started saying it looks really natural, and even that I seem younger, which I heard as a compliment. Every time I hear things like that, I remember all the time I spent worrying about surgery, and it makes me think it was the right choice.

Before the surgery, I was extremely worried. Since it was a major operation, I kept wondering whether recovery would be difficult and what I would do if I did not like the results. But looking back now at the 3-month point, although there were difficult moments during recovery, after going through them I feel that my daily life and appearance are in a much more satisfying state.

These days, I am much less stressed about my appearance than before, and taking photos has become much easier. Above all, when I look in the mirror, I feel satisfied seeing a facial line that is more natural and refined than before.

I think double jaw surgery is not something you can decide lightly, because it is a major operation. I also spent a long time deliberating and researching a lot of information before deciding. If there is anyone who is considering surgery, I think it is best to look into it thoroughly and make the decision carefully.

Personally, I am satisfied that I chose to have the surgery, and I am living my daily life without any problems now. I am looking forward to becoming even more natural as more time passes and recovery is fully completed.
