Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Yang Yundol jaw surgery review after 3 months

- What led me to decide on surgery: When I was little, I did not think much about my underbite, but as I grew up, whenever I took photos with friends, I always came out looking like I was the only one pouting, which I really hated T_T. Even at the orthodontic clinic I had visited before, they told me that jaw correction alone would not solve the underbite problem and that I might need double-jaw surgery. Since it is such a major operation involving the jaw, I was scared at first, but after looking through many reviews and getting a friendly explanation from the doctor and the manager, I was able to trust them and go ahead. - Recovery process and changes: I stayed in the hospital for a total of 2 nights and 3 days starting from the day of surgery, and honestly those 3 days were very hard. My mucous membrane was much more swollen than other patients', so even breathing was difficult, and for 2 weeks the phlegm and nasal congestion were really severe, so sleeping was hard too. But I heard that this varies a lot from person to person. After more than a week, though, the symptoms eased a lot and gradually got better, and around the third week there were no problems at all with breathing or anything like that. For two months I kept up with ice packs and warm packs, and I wore the chin strap continuously except when eating. The reduction in swelling also varies from person to person, but for me there was a big difference between week 2, month 1, and month 2. You really have to wait with patience. The numbness also mostly came back by the second month after taking the vitamin supplements prescribed with it, and now there are no problems at all. Because eating was uncomfortable for the first month and my meal intake dropped a lot, I lost about 5 kg, and as a result the receded jaw line became even more obvious, which made me very satisfied. I also had a slight reduction of the side cheekbone area, and at first the swelling there did not go down well, but now that all the side cheekbone swelling has gone down, my face definitely seems narrower in width. - Satisfaction with the changes and overall thoughts: First of all, from the side, my jaw does not stick out and I do not look as puffy as before, so I am really happy. Since the upper jaw was also rotated forward, the nose seems a little more prominent by comparison, but I think that is because my nose tip is also fleshy and rounded (for other people, there does not seem to be much change in the nose). If I had known I would be this satisfied, I should have just done it as soon as I became an adult, not half a year before graduation photos T_T. Anyway, that is how satisfied I am, and if you have an underbite and are considering double-jaw surgery, I strongly recommend it. + I am not the type to take lots of photos T_T, so the angles are limited... I wish I had taken more varied photos and lived that way T_T
