Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Underbite jaw surgery review

This is my 3-month review after double jaw surgery and two contouring procedures at a clinic that starts with W. Before surgery, my biggest concern was my underbite. Since upper elementary school, I could see my jaw gradually becoming more pronounced, and my bite was off too, so it was uncomfortable functionally, but honestly the appearance stress was worse. It felt like people’s eyes kept going to my chin, and I didn’t want to take photos. Even in conversations I felt unnecessarily self-conscious... I kept thinking I did not want to live my whole life worrying about this, and in the end I decided to have surgery. I was very scared before making the decision, but looking back now, I think taking that courage then was truly the right choice~The biggest change after surgery is that my bite was corrected to a normal position. Before, even when chewing, something felt awkward and the force did not seem evenly distributed, but now chewing feels much more stable and there is less strain on my jaw. The visual change is also very noticeable. My chin used to stand out first whenever I looked at my face, but now my whole face looks more balanced, and people often say my impression has become much softer. People around me have really been telling me I look prettier, and every time I hear that I think, I really did make the right choice. Personally, my face feels more refined overall, so looking in the mirror makes me feel much better. The recovery process was more manageable than I expected. Right after surgery, of course it was uncomfortable, but rather than being overwhelmed by severe pain, it felt more like adapting to the recovery process. The swelling did not suddenly disappear; it went down slowly, and there were periods when things felt firm or changed depending on how I was feeling. Still, as time passed, I could clearly feel it settling, and as of the 3-month mark, the major swelling is almost gone and only minor swelling remains. Jaw movement is also becoming more natural.Overall satisfaction is honestly very high. Functionally, aesthetically, and psychologically, my quality of life feels like it has improved across the board. Before, I often felt self-conscious about people looking at my jaw and I would shrink into myself, but now that stress is almost gone. I may not be at the final result yet, but even with the changes so far I am fully satisfied, and I am looking forward to what is still to come.People around me have also reacted really well. I keep hearing that my expression looks softer, that my face feels more put together, and above all that I look prettier. A lot of the reactions are that the change is not exaggerated and became naturally better, which makes me feel even more satisfied.Daily life is now almost fully back to normal. I can eat most foods without any special restrictions, and there are no major inconveniences in everyday activities. As long as I do not overdo it, I feel like there are almost no limitations in daily life.Overall, the 3-month mark feels like a stage where you have passed the major recovery period and are settling in stably. There is still some recovery left, but I think the changes so far alone have made it a meaningful and satisfying choice.
