Since high school, I realized that my jaw was longer than other people's, and that created concerns about my appearance. My side profile bothered me when taking photos or talking with people, and especially as my wedding approached, the thought of standing in front of many people at the ceremony made me actively consider changing my appearance. For these reasons, I decided to have double jaw surgery about 9 months before the wedding.
Now, 3 months after surgery, my quality of life has improved a lot along with the visible changes. My facial balance has been brought into order, and as my jawline settled into a more natural position, my side profile and overall harmony improved. The nasal congestion is almost gone, so breathing is easier, and I can enjoy most foods as long as I adjust the size, so I have rediscovered the joy of eating. The sensation in my upper teeth is also recovering, and with time, the result is becoming more natural and stable. Not only my appearance, but also my daily comfort and confidence have increased. There is still swelling around my nose, but I am looking forward to the rest of the recovery process.
