Nasal bridge silicone only, day 1

I also got a lot of emotional help from this community when I was struggling, so I want to keep posting short updates whenever I can.[Consultation]I had silicone inserted into the bridge of my nose when I had rhinoplasty 13 years ago, but after an unexpected accident(?) recently, I injured my nose and the silicone developed a visible deformity. The original hospital had closed long ago, so I looked for a new clinic and had a consultation today. I had made a lot of reservations at well-known places, but from the beginning I strongly wanted to remove only the silicone, and when the first hospital I visited said exactly that first, I just went with that clinic. Given the condition of my nose, removing the silicone first was absolutely necessary anyway, and the cartilage placed in the tip and columella felt too valuable as a resource(?) to remove just like that. I was also worried about the shape itself if everything was removed, so I chose to leave it in place. What I was most curious about was inflammation. Based on the current shape of my nose, they said it seemed like the silicone had simply been externally deformed(?) and that inflammation had probably not occurred yet. They said the exact answer would only be clear once they opened it up, and that if it was left as-is after a visible deformity, it would almost certainly lead to inflammation and capsular contracture the longer it was left alone. I already knew that, and I repeatedly asked them to remove not only the silicone but also the silicone and capsule that could cause inflammation, as cleanly as possible. The next concern was shape problems such as a lowered bridge or step-off, but they said the original silicone was not very high, and because the nose had been lengthened, the bridge would get somewhat lower and flatter, of course, but even if there was a difference it would probably not be large and might stay close to the current level. They also said that if, during surgery, they judged the bridge or step-off and similar issues to be severe, there could be several options to compensate for the shape. But I told them that I would rather have revision surgery later, and did not want any manipulation beyond silicone removal right now, so unless it was a truly major problem, please remove only the silicone.[Surgery]Since my goal was firm anyway (remove only the silicone and capsule quickly and safely), I just went ahead and had surgery right after the consultation based on what we discussed. Fortunately, the doctor said there was no need for any additional manipulation, so only the silicone was removed. There was nothing visibly like inflammation, but they said tests would still be done. However, perhaps because of the accident, there was a little blood pooled around the glabella, so they had a hard time draining that. The surgery took about 30 to 40 minutes from start to finish. Even now, 6 to 7 hours later, I have no ordinary pain. (It hurts a little when the ice pack touches the bridge of my nose.) Since it is still the same day, I cannot say much about how the shape will change. I will record the progress and share it here. I hope it helps someone.
