I had a lot of worries because of my protruding mouth and cheekbones, and with the hope of making my face smaller overall, I decided to undergo double-jaw surgery. After recommendations from people around me and a lot of deliberating, I decided to have the surgery, and after comparing several hospitals, I chose IYUG Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after considering the reviews and the level of trust. It was not a small surgery, so I was scared too, but I felt confident that it would be a place I could trust.
The recovery process right after surgery was not easy. As part of the double-jaw surgery process, for the first few days it was hard to even drink water because of swelling, bleeding, and pain, and the tightness in my face and neck pain were severe. But as time passed, I was gradually able to be active, and once I could drink water and eat soft foods, I slowly adapted. After the stitches were removed, the neck pain also eased a lot, and daily life became much more comfortable.
During the double-jaw surgery recovery period, from months 1 to 3, I could eat soft foods, and the swelling and pain gradually decreased, so there wasn't much inconvenience in daily life. I still had some tingling sensation left, but it wasn't enough to interfere with everyday life. By 4 months, the swelling from the double-jaw surgery had almost disappeared, and by months 6 to 7, the swelling was no longer noticeable outwardly. I was satisfied because there was no discomfort in daily life.
After 8 months, the swelling and pain had almost completely disappeared, and now at 11 months, I have no problems at all with daily life or eating. There is only a little residual swelling left that I can still notice, but I'm satisfied with both my face line and my recovery status. The double-jaw surgery recovery period was hard and painful at first, but now I'm very satisfied with both how I look and how I live, and I'm happily getting by.
