Review: Incisional double eyelid, fat removal, ptosis correction, and epicanthoplasty

After thinking about eye surgery for a long time, about 3 years, I finally had it done by Director Ham Gi-won at Gwang-gan Plastic Surgery, and I was so satisfied that I wanted to leave a review. My main complex used to be my heavy upper eyelids. In photos taken by other people, I always looked like I was opening my eyes with my forehead, or unless I consciously tried to open them very wide, I would always come out looking sleepy and kind of off. Because of this habit, I also developed forehead wrinkles, and above all, it was stressful because my eyes always looked tired. At first I seriously wondered whether I should get a forehead lift instead of eye surgery, because I was using my forehead muscles so much. So I went to a total of 10 clinics for consultations before this surgery, and I really struggled between a forehead lift and ptosis correction. While looking around, I also visited large factory-style hospitals, and for a moment I thought they might be trustworthy because they do so many procedures... But among the many foreign patients, the prearranged consultation times kept getting pushed back, and that was the biggest source of stress for me. In the end, I was drawn toward a one-doctor clinic where the surgeon could look at me carefully, and after reading good reviews about Director Ham Gi-won at Gwang-gan Plastic Surgery, who specializes in eyes, I went there. The director examined my eyes carefully and explained that my problem was not simply drooping eyelids, but a combination of heavy upper-eyelid fat and weak eye-opening force. So instead of forcing a forehead lift, he suggested making the eyes look brighter by removing unnecessary fat through incisional double eyelid surgery, strengthening the eye-opening force with ptosis correction, and resolving the Mongolian fold with epicanthoplasty. After two consultations with him, I gained trust and decided to proceed with surgery, and had incisional double eyelid surgery + fat removal + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty together. On the day of surgery, it was my first cosmetic procedure so I was very nervous, but the director led the operation calmly and I could finish comfortably. For about a week after surgery I struggled with swelling and bruising, but once I took the prescribed medicine properly and kept up with cold compresses, it went down quickly. By around 2 weeks after surgery, the major swelling had mostly gone and a natural eye shape started to show gradually. It has now been exactly 3 months since surgery, and I am extremely satisfied with the result! In fact, since the swelling is all gone now, other people say it looks so natural that they can't even tell where I had surgery. But when I show them my before-surgery photo, everyone says, "Haha, your eyes really used to look like that?" and tells me I did the surgery really well and that it was worth doing. haha I am truly grateful to Director Ham Gi-won at Gwang-gan Plastic Surgery for accurately identifying my complex and making a customized surgical plan. I hope my review helps people like me who have heavy upper eyelids and feel uncomfortable when opening their eyes. I hope everyone succeeds in their consultations and gets beautiful eyes!
