My eye condition* Left eye: no crease, right eye: thin inner double fold (both sides used to be no-crease, but tape created an inner double fold only on the right) * Eyelid skin is extremely thin and I have little fat (there is a double fold, and there is little fat in the upper eyelid, so some places also talked about fat repositioning or fat grafting) * My eye-opening strength is within the normal range, but on the weak side, and I habitually use my forehead and eyebrows to open my eyes, so I already have forehead wrinkles. * My epicanthic fold is fairly strong.🆘
My real questions for everyone (please be honest!) ✅ Honest clinic reviews: Has anyone had surgery at any of the 4 places above? If there is a place you would truly not recommend, please tell me the reason too. (I want advice from someone on my side, not a broker!) ✅ Surgery concerns: What do you think about getting ptosis correction or front canthoplasty for eyes like mine? If there is anything you think I absolutely should get, or absolutely should not get, please be blunt and explain why! ✅ Similar-eye experience: Does anyone have eyes like mine, with thin eyelid skin, little fat, and opening the eyes using forehead strength? Which surgery gave you the highest satisfaction? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🏥 I have been to 9 consultations in total, and I will post the other clinic reviews separately. These 4 places are the ones I am most torn about, so here are the consultation details for the 4 clinics! 1. [Clinic A] ([Doctor A]) 1) Diagnosis: non-incisional 2) Price: 2,200,000 won 3) Consultation details => The doctor here said ptosis correction was not necessary. The issue was not that the eye-opening muscles themselves were weak, but that the outer skin was a bit saggy, so it would not be needed. They said a non-incisional method would be sufficient, and for the crease I could choose between two styles: making the inner corner slightly visible or connecting it naturally. They also said not to do canthoplasty, because although it would definitely make the eyes look bigger and fresher, they were worried it would change my overall image too much. It felt like they preferred making only the minimum needed adjustments in a natural way. First of all, the line this doctor drew for me was the one I liked most, and I liked how they clearly said what was not needed. And the way they confidently said how far they could go did not feel negative to me; I actually liked it. 2. [Clinic B] ([Doctor B]) 1) Diagnosis: non-incisional ptosis correction 2) Price: 2,000,000 won 3) Consultation details => The doctor looked at my eyes and said ptosis correction was necessary. Because my eyes are fairly deep-set, once a crease is created, a lot of load goes onto the eye-opening muscles, so if I want them to open well without drooping, correction is essential. They recommended a non-incisional approach, but said that because my skin is thin and lacks elasticity, a double fold may remain. However, if I try to remove all of that, the line will end up too low, so the main line should be set clearly. Since my epicanthic fold is steep, they said the front line should be set low so it shows slightly, and they strongly did not recommend canthoplasty. They said that because the skin is thin and there are already wrinkles, adding canthoplasty could make the front wrinkles or scars worse, and the shape when the eyes are closed might not look nice. What I need to consider is that there will likely be fine wrinkles and a very thin semi-out appearance at the front, and I should factor that in. I liked the consultation itself, and I liked that the doctor firmly said they do not recommend front canthoplasty and explained why. They also told me there were things I should take into account when the line is set, but at the same time I kept thinking, can’t surgery perfectly solve the parts that need to be considered? 3. [Clinic C] ([Doctor C]) 1) Diagnosis: non-incisional + front canthoplasty 2) Price: 1,320,000 won 3) Consultation details => The doctor said ptosis correction was not really necessary. Surgery would be sufficiently possible with a non-incisional buried-suture method, and they recommended making the crease very natural rather than artificial. Here they recommended front canthoplasty, saying that because of my epicanthic fold, the distance between my eyes seems a bit wide. Because the epicanthic fold pulls from the front, even if a crease is made it keeps hiding inward, so they said a little opening would make the overall line look clearer. Their opinion was that if the epicanthic fold is left as it is, the line may look forced. Other places also recommended front canthoplasty because of my epicanthic fold, but I rejected those because they felt like they were trying to add too much. Here, it felt like they were recommending only a slight amount, and overall it felt like they were trying to move toward the best version of the look I wanted, so I thought it was okay. 4. [Clinic D] ([Doctor D]) 1) Diagnosis: non-incisional ptosis correction 2) Price: 1,100,000 won 3) Consultation details => The doctor said ptosis correction would be a good idea. The strength of my eye-opening itself is weak, so I am usually opening my eyes by using my eyebrow muscles a lot. They said that if I only make a double eyelid without correction, there is a high chance I will keep relying on my eyebrows and the line may loosen easily. They said surgery can also be done non-incisionally, and they first set several possible line heights in mm, which made it very easy for me to judge which line I liked. They recommended about 7 to 8 mm for me. They said canthoplasty is optional, and if I am happy with the double eyelid line, it is fine not to do it. But if I want the eyes to look a bit fresher, it can be combined; otherwise it does not have to be done. It felt like they were leaving the decision entirely to me. I am really scared that I might get it done even though I do not need it and end up overcorrected. ❓ Front canthoplasty and change in impression: I never even thought about front canthoplasty, but now that it has been recommended, I am torn. They say it would only be about 1 mm if it is done, but I worry my impression will change too much. I have also been seeing many front canthoplasty reversal cases lately, so I am even more hesitant....
