There don't seem to be many Busan reviews, so I'm posting this. I'm 30 now, and 8 years ago? I wanted to get under-eye fat repositioning, but I didn't know anything about it, so I just went to a hospital my mom knew and had surgery because she told me to. (Thinking about it now, it was insane; the doctor looked like they were doing it for the first time, at least from what I could tell; they weren't even a board-certified specialist; I think I paid about 1 million won, but I don't remember clearly.) Anyway, now it's too hollow, so whether I fill it or reposition it, whenever my appearance anxiety flares up I go out on a bunch of consultations impulsively. My personality makes it annoying to go all the way to Seoul or book things in advance, so I just impulsively searched for famous places and only booked places that accepted same-day appointments. I looked around at factory-style clinics up to one-doctor clinics: [Clinic A], [Clinic B], [Clinic C], [Clinic D], [Clinic E]. I have consultations with [Clinic A] and [Clinic C] next week. I failed to get same-day appointments there; I went to [Clinic E] and [Clinic B]. 1) [Clinic B] It had a very typical factory-clinic feeling. Since this would be a revision surgery too, and the story kept changing every time I visited, I really wanted to consult with the doctor, but as expected from a factory-style place, doctor consultations were not easy to get. While talking with the manager, I learned that my eyes are protruding type, but the area above the eyes is a bit hollow. I suddenly looked in the mirror and realized it really is a little sunken;;;;;;;;;;;; So I said, since we're already taking it out, why not add a thin layer there too? I figured if I'm already lying on the operating table, might as well do it. They said they keep a generous amount from the first harvest and store it frozen for 2 months, so if there is a shortage then, the touch-up cost is included. The quote was 1 million won cash for upper and lower, no bank transfer, no cash receipt, real cash-only money. The manager said the explanations are different at every hospital I go to. I kept talking like a blunt, clear-eyed person, and they said they'd let me consult with the doctor. (I had also said during booking that I definitely wanted to consult with the doctor, though they warned there might not be enough time.) I did consult with the doctor, and they said pretty much the same as the manager. They said under-eye fat repositioning isn't needed because there isn't any fat there, and that a tiny amount of fat grafting should be done in the under-eye groove? area. If doing it anyway, a thin layer can also be placed above the eyes, and they explained it in a dry but detailed way. * After the holiday, they sent a text saying the price would go up if I didn't do it now. I didn't ask by how much. 2) [Clinic E] I went because they specialize heavily in eyes and have one doctor. The scale is very small. The manager has attitude in her words but no backbone .... What was interesting here is that usually when I go to a hospital and say, “Would it be like this?” and show them roughly the shape I want to make, they say it can't be done. Almost every hospital did that. But here they said it can be done.. So I said it's surprising that other hospitals said it couldn't be done like that, and they said, we can do it... I mentioned a little about what I had heard at the previous hospital, and they said they don't do things like freezing fat anyway. They said that if you transplant frozen fat, the survival rate is basically meaningless. They said places that claim they'll do touch-ups in the 2nd and 3rd rounds are just putting on a show. So when I asked, “Then what if I'm not satisfied after the first surgery?” they said that has never happened to them; everything ended with the first surgery. * After looking it up later, it wasn't nonsense either * The doctor was very kind. Gave a very professional impression. Explained things well. Very confident. They said under-eye fat grafting above the eyes probably isn't necessary now, and if done wrong, it could make the eyes feel heavy? and cause bigger problems, so they recommended not doing it. They said just doing the double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction and spreading things out during that would be enough. Maybe it's like upper eyelid fat repositioning..? I forgot what exactly they called it. Other hospitals said there isn't enough fat for under-eye fat repositioning and that repositioning isn't necessary, but when I asked whether it should be done, they said they need to cut the line under the eye groove off. If it had been cut off during the first surgery, it would be fine, but they think it probably wasn't cut, and that doing repositioning while grafting fat makes it distribute more evenly. I got a quote of 1.7 million + 1.7 million (VAT separate), and they said if I write 6 reviews on BBT, they'd give a 15% discount. The final amount was about 3.2 million won, which was more expensive than I expected, so I was shocked; they said it's because it's a revision surgery. * After the holiday, they called and said if I have the surgery by May, they'd give another 10% off. Final amount would be around 2.7 to 2.8 million won? * Summary 1) It felt like a typical factory clinic, but they seemed to operate conservatively. As expected for a factory-style place, the price was cheap. They suggested several procedures together. Price for under-eye fat grafting + upper-eye fat grafting, including a 2nd touch-up, was 1 million won cash (I didn't bring up double eyelids there; I forgot). 2) As a one-doctor eye-specialist plastic surgery clinic, maybe because of the title, they were super confident and basically said anything can be done. They felt professional, but not pushy. What's interesting is that the price they first offered ended up being 1 million won cheaper. So far, if I do go through with it, I think I'd probably choose option 2. Thanks I also had surgery in a similarly impulsive way after coming up to Seoul, and I guess my personality prefers people who are direct and confident over people who feel like they're trying to sell something. I'll go to the remaining ones too and then write about them.
