Liposuction Reviews

Why I chose liposuction over fat-dissolving injection

My first plastic surgery ever had me so nervous, but it turned out to be no big deal Here begins my real, self-paid, boots-on-the-ground review!!

While choosing a hospital, I compared liposuction vs. fat-dissolving injections. First of all, I’m 164 cm / 50 kg, so I’m not an obese body type, and I hesitated about liposuction surgery!!! So I wanted to try the simplest possible procedure first, and I went to consult about fat-dissolving injections.

1. Fat-dissolving injection consultation I went to the hospital most famous for fat-dissolving injections~ Because I had a lot of thigh fat, they recommended unlimited fat-dissolving injections at a fixed price, and the pricing method was by area. Inner thighs unlimited + outer thighs unlimited + front thighs 2 bottles + fat-dissolving shot That came to 4****** won!!!!

The advantages of fat-dissolving injections are: 1. Lower risk (no sleep anesthesia, local anesthesia with solution) 2. Lower risk of bio-bonding (bumpy irregularity) side effects But because of the limited syringe volume, it’s hard to remove a truly large amount (it’s possible, but you’d have to repeat a huge number of syringes..?)

I put that on hold for now, and next I headed to a liposuction clinic.

2. Liposuction surgery I went to a specialized liposuction clinic in Gangnam.. The surgeon only recommended inner thighs + up to the knees, and I could choose either sleep anesthesia + local anesthesia (sleep anesthesia for incision + solution injection, then waking up to proceed) or full sleep anesthesia! The cost was 2****** won!!! I was shocked by how affordable it was, but I guess that’s because the area was smaller!

I also asked for the surgeon’s opinion on fat-dissolving injections. He said liposuction and fat-dissolving injections are based on the same principle, but to explain it simply, liposuction is like forcefully extracting fat. Fat-dissolving injection -> using a syringe, extracting with negative pressure from the syringe Liposuction -> using a liposuction machine, extracting with negative pressure from the machine So the principle is the same, but liposuction is stronger 🔥 He also said that with a syringe, there are limits to cannula length, so it’s hard to remove a wide area evenly.

In my case, the whole thigh was puffy, so I chose liposuction!! If it had just been a localized area like outer thigh fat or inner protruding fat about palm-sized, I think I would have chosen fat-dissolving injections! Honestly, I don’t even know how different the results would be;; I just chose the cheaper one

D-0, the big surgery day Before surgery I had a blood test and ECG! And there were some things I needed to prepare for liposuction!!

1. If it’s winter, warm sleep socks 2. T-back panties!! (because the thighs swell, they’re really comfortable) 3. A small waterproof bandage pack from Daiso, 10 pieces for 1,000 won (great deal) 4. 3.5 cm coin bandages For the rest, I think you can just buy what the hospital tells you to get at the pharmacy.

Before surgery I was so scared that I hugged my mom and cried before going in (*´□`*。)°゚。

Sleep anesthesia vs. local anesthesia I had local anesthesia For reference, I had sleep + local anesthesia, but the process of seeing the liposuction after local anesthesia was.. too brutal to look at, so I didn’t. It feels like the pain level of a Thai massage. Not bad!! The areas that weren’t fully anesthetized hurt a little, but even that felt like a really strong massage The doctor told me I was enduring it well like I had general anesthesia, which made me proud.

Because I was in so much pain, they put me to sleep for the back side I was lying there hearing things like, we’re giving propofol.. and then I drifted off

When I came to, it was over!!

The manager was also super kind ◟( ˘ ³˘)◞ ♡

As soon as it was over, I looked at my legs and they were already thinner It didn’t hurt that much It’s ugly, so I won’t upload the photo..

Q: How much pain is it? I knew I wouldn’t be in much pain There’s a belief that the more fat and the less muscle you have, the less it hurts. Since I’m actually a skinny-fat type with a 30% body fat rate, the pain was only about what I’d feel the day after doing 50 squats! And I didn’t even bruise!!! (Just a little bit in some spots) Since I did it under local anesthesia, I may have cooperated well, so it might have hurt less.

Anyway, it’s day 4 now and I can walk and sit with no problem!!! Totally fine to go to work! Still, I recommend resting for the first 3 days For the first 3 days, walking around made my legs swell and my feet hurt so, so much

I still.. don’t have side effects or results yet, but if there’s a dramatic change, I’ll come back with a part 2 Bye~
