✅ Why did I decide on liposuction? 1️⃣ No matter how much I worked out, the thickness of my legs only went down very slightly. The leg line and the fat I wanted to remove would absolutely not go away... 2️⃣ The saddlebag area stood out so much that when I wore pants, my legs looked short and bulky and it felt cramped. 3️⃣ Because I kept buying clothes to fit my thighs and hips rather than my waist or calves, fashion became less about style and more about just covering up. (Of course, I stopped wearing short skirts and shorts unless it was a really hot day..) 4️⃣ The imbalance between my upper and lower body... a severe lower-body type... because of that, the fat thickness in my saddlebag area was a whopping 4 cm...!!?!! ✅ Why did I choose [Clinic A]?? 1️⃣ Before I even finished explaining my concerns!! The only doctor and manager who looked at my problem from an expert's point of view and told me directly. 2️⃣ The fact that even the staff at [Clinic A] get liposuction from Dr. Park Seung-am!! 👉👉 50% of my decision was already made 3️⃣ The trust and hope I felt from the words, "We'll make you look pretty" and "We'll make you like this" 4️⃣ I also care about how clean the hospital is (its image matters to me personally) 5️⃣ The staff's work feels clearly divided, and I could tell they schedule appointments by distributing time well for each customer (no delays, and I do not have to squeeze past lots of people whenever I go) 6️⃣ Above all, the incision sites matter, and there are four of them placed in hidden spots that are hard to see. 👉👉 That completely sealed my decision to choose the hospital (now, one month later, the scars are not large and they do not look like liposuction scars, so I like them) ✅ 3 days after surgery to week 1 ✅ 1️⃣ The war with swelling that feels like it will burst from the knees to the ankles, the tops of the feet, and the toes begins. The swelling makes the joints hard to bend T_T I experienced swelling so intense I wondered if this was really okay (stairs were uncomfortable, and shoes had to be Crocs. My walking also got slower, so it felt like I was in slow motion by myself..) 2️⃣ They tell you to walk a lot, and it is definitely true that if you stay in one position too long or just sit still, the legs feel stiff. After sleeping, I would loosen my legs and walk laps around the living room. They say you have to keep moving for recovery to be faster, so even though my steps were slow like an elephant's legs, I kept walking hard. 3️⃣ Bruising was obvious too, with dark blue and purple blood bruises. The bruising even went down to the soles of my feet, and my knees were just purple. 4️⃣ I had seen reviews saying people got goosebumps every time they went to the bathroom, and while the part touching the toilet seat hurt, it was not to the point of goosebumps. But that was not the real problem; for me, the terrifying part was the process of lowering and pulling the compression garment back up. You cannot just wear it any old way. You have to pull it on so that the wrinkles sit around the groin and under-butt line, while the thigh area is smooth and taut without wrinkles, and honestly that really hurt my wrists. I kept thinking my popliteal area and groin were going to get cut off.... ✅ Week 1 to week 2 after surgery ✅ 1️⃣ As soon as a week had passed, around day 10, the inner thigh area became insanely hot, then even stinging, and got bumpy, which sent my anxiety and suffering to the maximum. When I contacted the hospital, they said it was a normal reaction. They said the inner thigh is an area where fibrosis lumps easily form, so I should wear the compression garment properly for 24 hours (I guess the heat and pain came from the fibrosis forming). 2️⃣ Knee swelling went down a little, but the swelling on the tops of the feet was severe. 3️⃣ My weight increased by 3 to 4 kg compared with before surgery (because I had to take medicine and was eating three meals plus snacks; I decided it was probably swelling weight). ✅ From week 2 to week 4 after surgery ✅ 1️⃣ My weight started to go down little by little. 2️⃣ The compression garment became comfortable to wear 👉 I needed to have it taken in. 3️⃣ The stitches were removed after 2 weeks (it did not hurt at all). They said I had to keep disinfecting it for 2 more days. 4️⃣ Starting the night stitches were removed, the swelling amazingly started to disappear all at once. It felt like a miracle from the stitches 👉 you could see the bones on the tops of my feet T_T my legs also looked longer T_T 5️⃣ I had the compression garment altered (the clinic is nearby, but the tailor's available hours are awkward, so you have to go at the right time; that is the only downside..) 🙏🏻 It is better to visit while wearing the compression garment. Alterations are done quickly. 6️⃣ High-frequency care 4 times. Because of my schedule, I went twice and got two sessions each time. Definitely! It hurts, but it feels refreshing. Even my muscles feel soft. I can feel the fibrosis lumps shrinking, and compared with the surgery, the pain is nothing!! 7️⃣ It is hard to sit on the floor. If you live a floor-sitting lifestyle, you need a chair. You have to do everything while seated. (I bought a small stool where I can put my legs up.) ✅ 1 month after surgery ~ ✅ 1️⃣ It is still hard to fully bend my knees 2️⃣ The cross-legged sitting position is still difficult too 3️⃣ They say to use a foam roller, and it hurts a lot, but I am doing it 4️⃣ They say exercise is possible (including strength training) 5️⃣ The fibrosis lumps have decreased a lot, but some remain, and since time still has to pass, I am personally planning to add more high-frequency care So if I had to say one thing about liposuction surgery... No Pain No Gain. There really is nothing gained without pain. ^^ ⁉️ So do I recommend liposuction? ⁉️ Getting liposuction does not mean my diet is over, and I will keep dieting and exercising, but because of the surgery I think I can diet with less obsession and less stress. Right now I am exercising a little at a time, and when I eat, I eat, and when I keep it, I keep it, so I feel less stressed. Maybe that is why I have now broken through the plateau and, looking at the weight I have lost and the leggings fit I have never been able to wear before, I am feeling happiness from dieting for the first time in my life ~~ I plan to maintain these legs well so I never need revision surgery, and because thighs are a body part that moves a lot, you have to be ready to accept pain and discomfort if you are considering surgery. For 2 weeks I told people around me I would never get liposuction again and I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone..!!! But seeing the legs that would have taken who knows how many years of 10-hour workouts to get, in just 2 weeks, I really do feel that enduring the pain and suffering was worth it. Very much so. After stitches removal from the thighs and while getting high-frequency care, before I knew it I found myself standing in front of the mirror in the consultation room and getting a consultation for upper-body liposuction ^^ Also, my weight change was before surgery 62~63 kg ➡️ during the first week 65~66 kg ➡️ after 1 month 60 kg~ 👀 If it helps, for reference 👀 1️⃣ On the day of surgery, it is recommended to bring a guardian, plus a hat, a loose oversized dress, and shoes that are easy to put on and take off. (Public transportation is absolutely impossible, so call a taxi in advance) 2️⃣ Since I could not shower for 3 days, I got a lot of help from a shower head that lets you turn the water on and off from the handle while standing and washing my hair (no bending the legs ❌ no using the feet instead of the hands ❌). Disposable shower towels were really convenient for washing the upper body. 3️⃣ If you put lotion or aloe gel on your bruised skin because you feel sorry for it, you will not be able to put the compression garment on properly. 4️⃣ Compression-garment marks do not come off no matter how much you wash them, so having two sets would make it easier to alternate washing and drying, and quality of life would be better, but since you wear it 24 hours a day for only 2 weeks, and after stitch removal it is 12 hours a day, I think you can buy with that in mind. I only got one set, and the compression garment dried quickly, and more than anything, the 2 weeks went by fast. Of course, I did not like seeing the marks on it, though ^^ 5️⃣ If you ask how many days it is good to rest after surgery, I am a office worker and had surgery before Chuseok, so I rested during the Chuseok holiday. It is good to be able to rest, of course I also walked laps around the living room and went for walks at home.
