Ever since I was a college student, every time I took photos I kept feeling like my jaw looked different depending on the angle, and through dental consultation I was diagnosed with a class 3 malocclusion and recommended double jaw surgery. I was told that orthodontics alone could improve function, but it would be hard to change the appearance as much as I wanted, so after much deliberation I decided to have surgery. After comparing several hospitals, I chose Director Shin Hee-jin at the oral and maxillofacial surgery department of Leeu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and now I am really satisfied with that choice :) Now that I am approaching 11 months, it seems like almost all the remaining minor swelling around my jaw has gone down. In fact, to other people it already looked natural a long time ago, but once the tiny swelling that only I could notice settled, I felt much more satisfied when taking photos haha. My jawline also became clearer and the overall facial line settled naturally, so now it feels close to a finished look. I can eat almost anything without restrictions now. I can even eat foods that require strong chewing, like radish kimchi or soy-sauce marinated crab, without any trouble, so in daily life I often forget that I had double jaw surgery. There is almost no discomfort in everyday life, and it feels like it has naturally become my face. And as time passes, the most pleasant thing is the reaction from acquaintances I meet after a long time. Everyone says things like "You are really pretty now" and "Your vibe has changed a lot," and because they have no idea I had surgery and think the change just happened naturally, I am even more satisfied haha. I myself am so used to this face now that whenever I hear those comments, I feel like I am reminded all over again that I had surgery. Personally, my satisfaction has kept increasing throughout recovery, and even if I were to go back to before surgery, I would choose the same thing again with Director Shin Hee-jin at Leeu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery without hesitation. Once the orthodontic treatment is finished, I will probably see an even more complete result, but even now I am fully satisfied with the outcome. If you are thinking about double jaw surgery, I think it would be good to keep in mind not only the recovery process but also how the changes become more natural over time :)
