Lately I have been wanting to get cosmetic surgery again, so I am writing this to earn some points.
My eyes had no double eyelids, a very narrow eye opening, and severe ptosis. I got double eyelid surgery in my senior year of high school and then just lived normally after that, but at 26 I quit my job and got revision double eyelid surgery. While I was searching clinics at that time, the hospital first recommended a forehead lift.
Even then and even now, many people say a forehead lift is not recommended. But back then my desire to become prettier was really strong, so I just did it. I guess I thought there must be a reason they were recommending it??..
During the surgery, the surgeon said, "You cannot do it like this," so I woke up feeling pretty uneasy. Did they give me the wrong amount of anesthetic..? lol
Feeling half-asleep and noticing them stitching my eyes, I felt so bad that I wanted to say, "Just stop here and finish it," but I held back. Maybe because I kept blinking so much, that side ended up with uneven eyes. Damn.
Anyway, after surgery it was a bit embarrassing going home with my head wrapped up like the woman in the movie The Beauty and the Beast. Once I got home, I felt nauseated, probably because of the anesthetic gas, and I even threw up. The awkward feeling lasted for two months, and my face was also a bit puffy. Since they shaved three spots along the forehead line before surgery, I think it took about six months for the hairline to look natural again.
The point where I really thought, "Oh, it looks natural," was after two years... Until then, it felt like the swelling kept going down lol. And now that five years have passed, I think I am satisfied. At least I feel like it was the right choice to do it then. The surgery process was, as always, a bit painful lol. If I had to do it now... could I even manage it?
My eyes look more innocent now, and since they were originally so small, even when I open them wide they seem similar to other people's. Opening my eyes feels easier. Sometimes older people say my eyes are pretty, and that makes me happy.
Conclusion: even if other people say not to do it, there seems to be a person for whom it is recommended. (For people who struggle to open their eyes, a forehead lift seems necessary.) I am not disclosing the hospital name because my eyes are a bit uneven and, since it was a revision double eyelid surgery, the line is also a little uneven.... I cannot fully recommend it. Please make sure my next surgery, lower outer canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty, goes well, too,,
