In high school I used eyelid tape and eyelid glue a lot, so my eyelids had become quite droopy. I chose the hospital by asking around among classmates who had good double-eyelid surgery results. Back then my parents had to come with me, so I could not go to many places for consultations and had to decide on just one clinic.
I went for the consultation in a real rush, and since I did not even know what I was supposed to ask, the doctor handled everything for me. Using a thin metal rod-like tool, he tried it against my eyelids in different spots and explained that an inner-out line would suit my eyes best. He also told me that my eye-opening strength was quite weak, so I would need ptosis correction as well, and that because the Mongolian fold was making the inner corner look cramped, combining it with epicanthoplasty would lead to a very high level of satisfaction.
I only cared that my eyes would get bigger, so I kept nodding... I remember even placing a deposit on the spot. Looking back now, I think it was very reckless, but fortunately I seem to have found an excellent surgeon because I did not end up with sausage-like eyes, and now, six years later, it looks so natural that no one would know I had double-eyelid surgery unless I said so!
