Eye Surgery Reviews

They say lower eyelid fat repositioning isn't needed when you're young? If you're thinking about it, look at my before and after first lol

I'm in my 20s, and after getting lower eyelid fat repositioning, I'm the kind of person who feels like I kept putting it off just by thinking about my age lol Before I looked into lower eyelid surgery, I thought it was something people with some age got done, so I wondered whether it was a bit too early for me in my 20s. To describe how my eyes were before: it wasn't just that I looked dark from lack of sleep. The under-eye area was slightly puffy, but below that it was hollow, so the boundary was very clear, and in photos I looked older and more tired than I really was. Editing my under-eyes in selfies was essential, and I tried all kinds of things to cover it with makeup, but being conscious of my under-eyes every time was getting exhausting. I wanted to stop buying concealer!! lol Instead of keeping on covering it up, I wanted to change the under-eye area itself, so I started looking into lower eyelid fat repositioning. I kept searching for before-and-after photos and reviews from people in their 20s or other younger age groups with under-eyes similar to mine, and it turned out more people than I expected had it done at a young age. From then on, I changed my mind a bit and started visiting clinics for consultations. I mostly went to one-doctor clinics where one doctor follows you from the first consultation through post-op recovery. The place I chose wasn't pushy about deciding quickly, and after carefully examining my under-eyes, they explained fairly conservatively how much change to expect after surgery and what the recovery process would be like. Of course, the other places I visited also checked my under-eyes carefully! They didn't just say good things; they kept stressing that swelling could take time to go down and that even if it looked fine on the outside, the inside would take longer to recover. It felt a bit like they were safety-first types, but I actually liked that. Rather than raising my expectations for no reason, they were the kind of people who told me in advance about the things I should be worried about. So I chose the clinic and had the lower eyelid fat repositioning. Honestly, for the first week after surgery, I kept thinking maybe I shouldn't have done it lol Because of the swelling and bruising, the before-and-after difference wasn't easy to see, and the dark circles felt like they were still there, so I kept looking in the mirror several times a day. In other reviews, it looked like people cleared up quickly, so I kept wondering why mine looked unchanged and worrying on my own that maybe I had spent all that money only to end up looking the same as before But after a week, the swelling gradually went down, and around two weeks later the hollow-looking boundary under my eyes started to look more refined little by little. That's when I started thinking, huh? I might be able to throw away all my concealer lol The change wasn't dramatic all at once; it was more like I could see the under-eye area gradually changing as the swelling went down day by day. I started thinking I had worried for nothing in the beginning lol By one month, the aegyo-sal I had been worried would disappear was still there, and I loved that the dark, sharply bordered part under my eyes was gone. iPhone front-camera selfies are the truth, right? The biggest difference I felt was that after taking selfies, I no longer had to edit my under-eyes first like before. Oh, and at the one-month mark I went back to the clinic for a follow-up, and the director checked me very carefully then too. It wasn't just a quick glance and done; they looked over both under-eyes from different angles. I was already excited because it felt like everything had settled, but the director said it still wasn't over lol Even if the swelling looked gone on the outside, the inner tissue was still recovering, so I was told to be a little more careful. Since the same person has been following me from the beginning until now, I liked that they knew what my under-eyes were like before surgery and could compare them, and I also liked that even if the result looked good, they didn't assume it was over right away. But just looking at the outside, there is really not a trace left When I compare old photos with current ones, I wonder why I kept trying to cover it only with makeup for so long lol If you're young and wondering whether it's too early like I was, I think what mattered first was to understand why my under-eyes looked that way instead of just judging by age. Then I would have been able to decide sooner whether to get lower eyelid surgery or not... If you're young like me, stressed because of your under-eyes, and even when you cover them with makeup the sunken boundary and shadow still bother you, use my before-and-after as a reference. And if you do lower eyelid surgery, don't judge too quickly just by photos from the first week after surgery. I worried on my own at first that it looked the same as before, but once the swelling started to go down, the difference began to show little by little lol
