I had a lateral canthoplasty 3 years ago, but the outer corners of my eyes looked like they had opened in a square shape, which stressed me out so much In the end, I had the original hospital stitch it back together, but this time the shape and length of the outer corners of both eyes were left different. In particular, the left side looked like the lower canthoplasty had been done too much, so the outer corner looked drooped downward, and it bothered me every time I took photos. While trying to correct the signs of the split and the asymmetry, I also wanted the cramped length at the outer side of my eyes to be longer than it is now, so I started looking into revision canthoplasty at Wonder. Dr. Choi Min did not just open both eyes the same way, but first checked the remaining scars and the height of the outer corners separately. The left side was in a state where it should not be lowered any further, so they explained that the drooping-looking direction should be corrected and only the insufficient horizontal length should be extended naturally. What I wanted was not just bigger eyes, but eyes that looked longer while the shapes on both sides matched more closely, and because they understood that difference exactly, it was easier to decide. It is the day of surgery, so swelling and redness are still there, but it does not look like one side is hanging down much more than the other like before. The eye corners that had looked sharply bent into a square shape are now much softer, and the horizontal length on both sides seems more similar than before, so I feel relieved. Since it is still in the recovery process, I will have to watch the final shape more, but it feels like a refreshing extension toward the outer side rather than simply pulling downward, so I am hopeful. I already went through problems and re-stitching after a lateral canthoplasty once before, so for this revision surgery, safety and proper correction mattered more to me than just the shape. The drooped left outer corner was adjusted to the correct position, and the cramped length was naturally extended, so I think the result is close to what I wanted. I plan to slowly watch how both outer corners settle as the swelling goes down.

The doctor was kind. I hesitated because it was a difficult case for aegyo-filler, but I liked that he clearly said it probably wouldn’t work. Double-eyelid filler was 550,000 won excluding touch-up; Including touch-up, it was 100,000 won…
