Following the consultation review, this time it is the surgery review!!! My honest self-paid review★ It has finally been 2 weeks since I had nose revision surgery at [Clinic A]!!!!!!!
To show my nose before the revision a little more accurately, I searched through my gallery and brought photos from various angles, even if I did not look good. It is so unreal lol. The original photo is, of course, one where I did not touch the nose at all. Since my nose was a complex for me, I used to contour my nose quite heavily when doing makeup. And I do have a slight underbite and protruding mouth, but I felt they stood out even more because of the shape of my nose (the line), so I kept worrying about it and felt so stressed... At first, because 6 years had passed since my first nose surgery at age 19, I thought maybe it was because my nostrils had lifted a lot, or maybe it was a complication? But during the pre-op consultation, while talking a lot with Director Lee Gyuho, he said that although the lifted nose and visible nostrils are also a problem, the main issue is that the nose is too short and the face is out of balance, so lengthening it is the most important thing. I was suddenly stunned. I knew my nose was small, but for some reason I had never thought of it as short? Anyway, that is how I ended up going ahead with the revision! Surgery details: silicone + autologous costal cartilage + alar base lowering (autologous ear cartilage, skin graft), glabella fat graft It was done under sedation anesthesia, and the anesthesia had not gone well during the previous surgery, so I worried a lot about what I would do if it failed again. But I tried the method the director told me for falling asleep well (?) and it worked instantly lol. Imagine lying on a sunbed in Hawaii with people you like, tanning and drinking beer... useful tip. For the surgery, they put in silicone for the bridge, autologous costal cartilage for the tip, and autologous ear cartilage and skin tissue for the alae, and used Director Lee Gyuho's signature alar base lowering method. Alar base lowering, simply put, is a surgical method needed when people like me who have short noses want to increase nose length. When pulling down the columella (the pillar between the nostrils), if you only pull down the columella and do not bring the alar sides down too, the nose can end up looking like a hooked arrow nose. But with alar base lowering, that does not happen! (D+3) I also included photos from 3 days after surgery, and people around me said it was the first time they had seen someone with this little swelling and bruising lololol. It was really amazing. I had no swelling, no bruising, and it was surprising. The only uncomfortable things were sleeping posture and a runny nose, and I ate well, slept well, and had zero inconvenience in daily life! Oh, the cartilage harvest site hurt a bit when lying down and getting up. I think it kept hurting until about a week. I also had to wear a support binder for about a month, and because the weather has been so hot lately, the sweat buildup... was hell I wanted to look at my nose shape so badly, but because I had the splint on, I was dying from wanting to see the shape lololol. Still, you can kind of see the line, right? I counted down the days until the splint removal day every day haha.
(D+7) These are photos taken at 1 week, the day I went to the hospital, had the splint removed, and got the stitches from the costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and columella tip removed (I slightly retouched the eyes). You can clearly see that the nose has become waaaay longer, right? Not only the length, but the shape... it is really art, isn't it... I sent those photos to close friends and said it was amazing, insane, and friends who were thinking about revision surgery said that seeing me made them want to do it too lol. It is exactly the line and shape they wanted, and they asked me to recommend the hospital. This is not a lie at all, but 2 people actually asked me for the hospital information. Shout out to GOAT [Clinic A]!!!! When the splint came off, swelling had gathered in the area under the splint. Compared with the side view, the bridge area looked a little puffy from the front. But the nurse in the treatment room said, absolutely! It does not look like this at all, so no looking in the mirror at home! lol And really, the nurse was so kind and the treatment was done so well, I was very, very happy. While I was getting treatment, the director stopped by the treatment room for a moment while consulting to check the shape and ask how I was doing haha. When he said, did the surgery go well? I just blurted out, yeeeesss Director, thank you... lol
And one thing I found amazing! After removing the splint, I had been stuck at home for a week, and then when I started meeting people and going around, every single one of them said, did you also get your eyes done? I had the nose done, but they said it looked like I had done something to my eyes too, and my impression changed a lot and my eyes looked much more open. 8 out of 10 people said exactly the same thing lol. Great bonus..?
(D+14) These are 2-week photos after having the stitches inside the nose removed haha. The nurses at [Clinic A] are so many, and honestly every single one seems so incredibly kind.... When I had my first nose surgery, I remembered the pain of removing the inside stitches being so bad that tears would come out a little at a time, so I was scared, but huh, it really did not hurt at all, to the point that I did not even notice it happening? Amazing, good good. They said there are still places that are not fully healed, so I have to visit again next week to remove the remaining stitches. Anyway, the side view is so pretty. Even though there is still swelling, the line is so pretty... And the most important thing!!!!!! My jaw does not look protruded This is really the best thing. It is so amazing that the shape and proportions of the face can be corrected with the nose length and shape... When I was consulting with the director, I asked not only for the nose shape, but also for it to be made in a way that would make it look as little like an underbite as possible, and I am beyond satisfied!
(D+16) For the first time after surgery, I put on makeup and went out with friends and got lots of pretty photos 0_< Now that my nose is pretty and my facial proportions are balanced, taking photos is enjoyable, and before, whenever I took selfies or photos, I was always busy editing the nose shape lol. Even when I retouch, I will never touch the nose itself The nose shape I wanted was not too high in an overdone way (I hated noses so high that they stood out alone on the face and looked unbalanced), and I preferred a rounded tip rather than a sharp one, with a slight curve from the bridge to the tip. I asked the director for that and left it in his hands, and he made it beautifully in exactly the right way, so I am truly grateful. And when I read revision surgery reviews, there are lots of noses that were already fine in my eyes before revision but became even prettier. But mine went from a nose that was so unbelievably ugly and unpretty to a pretty nose, so I feel even more grateful to the director that my tiny, precious nose, which was basically in the ICU dying, was revived with CPR with great effort ㅡㅜㅜㅜ It still does not move very well in the middle of the face when I smile widely, so my face can feel a little awkward, and it will probably take a few more months for the swelling to completely go down. But even now it is plenty pretty and I like it, so every day feels happy~! This was my story~ I wrote this review and hope it helps. Since it is not a first surgery but a revision surgery that people make a big decision about after comparing several places carefully, I hope everyone does not get swept up by rumors like this or that. Find reviews of cases most similar to your own nose, and although it is troublesome and difficult, visit multiple clinics for consultations and compare them carefully so you can meet a skilled director at a good hospital and have a beautiful surgery!
