Review of implant removal after being inserted at an ENT clinic

I had implant removal surgery two days ago, and I’m only now starting to feel a bit better, so I’m going to leave a review. My eyes are still very swollen, but they’re much better now. I had septoplasty surgery at an ENT clinic in Gangnam? about 12 years ago. That clinic was a fairly large place that was rapidly expanding. At the time, I wanted to improve nasal function more than appearance. Even then I had seen reviews saying it was better not to touch the deviated septum, but I think my desire to raise my nose was stronger. Still, I had already seen reviews about side effects from silicone, Gore-Tex, and so on, so when I had the pre-op consultation, I said I didn’t want silicone. Then, when signing the pre-op consent form, I think I also signed the line that said if there were problems during surgery, such as with the nose height, donor costal cartilage might be used. The doctor at the time said he would try not to use it if possible, so I trusted him and went ahead with the surgery... (I was so naive.) During surgery, I was told they used donor costal cartilage to match the nose tip height, and that there would be an additional charge of 300,000 won. So until my revision surgery now, I thought I had ear cartilage on the bridge and donor costal cartilage at the tip. After that septoplasty, rhinitis surgery, and slight augmentation... the nose became a little higher and the tip became hard. The doctor kept explaining in an interview video playing at the clinic that having the surgery would make the nose stronger, like foreigners’ noses... How is that a good thing? Seriously. It seems like everything followed this pattern.. There were a lot of people who had the surgery, and I felt something was wrong, but by then it was too late. And after the surgery, I never met that doctor again. I heard the follow-up explanation from another doctor too. I honestly doubt whether he even performed the surgery. After the surgery, nasal function seemed to improve for a while, but later I developed nasal congestion I’d never had before, and I ended up in a state where I couldn’t live without nasal spray. Even now I still have to use it regularly. The reason I had revision surgery was that the ear cartilage placed on the bridge became more and more noticeable as the skin thinned with age. It got to the point where anyone could see it and ask why it looked like that. And what I hated even more was that the nose tip was attached slightly to the right of the philtrum, so my nose bent to the right. In photos, along with the ear cartilage protruding, it looked completely crooked. Taking pictures stressed me out every time, so I decided to have surgery. I had already known 12 years ago that there was such a thing as autologous dermal rhinoplasty. I only found that out after surgery, but if someone around me says they’re going to get silicone or something else put in their nose, I would seriously try to stop them. But even recently, after searching, it’s hard to find a clinic that does only autologous dermis surgery like Bombam? There are basically almost none. The Bomnal Plastic Surgery clinic where I first learned about autologous dermis is gone now. Anyway, two days ago I had the removal surgery. It was under sedation anesthesia, but maybe it was light sedation where I was partly awake? Anyway, I could hear the doctor speaking during surgery, and while removing the implant I heard a sigh of “ah...” and realized he was having trouble removing it.. omitted.. In my nose tip there was something called Medpor that I didn’t even know was there I clearly said I didn’t want silicone and wouldn’t have it put in, but to think they had put in the worst thing, Medpor, that doctor had zero ethics and no conscience... at an ENT clinic, too. The implant removal took about an hour. It seemed difficult to remove, but since the surgeon was skilled, it ended sooner than expected. Thank you so much, Dr. Kim Jang-uk. I honestly didn’t realize revision surgery would be this hard. Yesterday was the hospital’s day off, but the nurse came in specially to remove my nasal packing and disinfect the area, and the manager who explained everything kindly, thank you so much too. Nose surgery really has to be done very carefully. Natural is best. Think ahead to when you’re older, and from the start, please just do autologous dermis.
