My nose bridge was originally low. At 15, my mom dragged me there to raise the bridge, and I didn’t know anything about it. My mom kept telling the doctor not to make it too high. Since the height wasn’t very high to begin with, nobody would suspect I had surgery, and the tip was lifted too, so my nose looked sharper. My skin is so thin that at first it felt a bit see-through, and in winter my nose even felt like it was freezing. (That was psychological.) Over the years, a lot of new surgical methods came out and I was interested, but I got so many compliments on my looks that I was scared to touch it. My eyes are big, my eyebrows are thick, and my face shape is slim. My lips are also full. I’ve even gotten the casting ceremony award and have taken first place in looks in voting contests somewhere. If you just look at my nose, it might seem a little short, but my midface is short and people have also said I look young for my age. I never developed contracture. My daughter has been called the prettiest in the neighborhood since the day she was born, and her nose is low too. I’d like to just lightly adjust hers with an L shape like mine, but these days I can’t find anywhere that does only L-shape. Relatives around me followed what I did after seeing how well it worked, and none of them have had contracture so far. It’s just that their base features or skin aren’t as good as mine, so they don’t get told they’re pretty. Since everyone says L-shaped silicone is dangerous, I also thought about revision for a while and decided I’d do it if something went wrong, but since nobody around me has had any problems, I actually think that if you don’t overdo it and don’t over-disrupt things, L-shape may be safer and better. I only raised the height a little, and I didn’t get greedy with the tip either (which I actually like because it looks natural). The doctor said the area between the eyebrows was very low, but I still emphasized that it should only be lifted a little. It was non-open, and since the doctor was right-handed, the bridge couldn’t be placed perfectly on the center line, and if you look closely the nostrils are uneven too. Still, no contracture came, so I’m not planning revision. People still tell me I’m pretty now too. At the time, I was treated by a board-certified plastic surgeon, and I heard it had to be done either on the fascia or right above the bone. Some people back then had visible bridge outlines, but I think they probably went to a non-specialist.
