I had everything removed today (day of surgery)

• First-surgery materials and what was done to the nose?: autologous costal cartilage / silicone / alar reduction / osteotomy / septal extension / Alloderm overlay / revision correction / nasolabial angle correction Damn, it was my first surgery and they messed up my nose, seriously All I keep talking about is the hospital and doctor from my first surgery, and I’m so angry I could scream.. Anyway, it’s a nose with a lot of alterations • Time of removal: 4.5 months after the first surgery • Reason for full removal: a nose shape that was so high and sharp it looked like it could be used as a weapon + a hard foreign-body feeling • Hospital: one of the top three clinics in Apgujeong • Price: in the 4 million won range, but I sent the payment by bank transfer instead of card, so excluding VAT it was under 4 million • Reason for choosing the hospital: I visited two clinics in person, and at one of them I felt I absolutely had to avoid it. There, the doctor also seemed similar to the doctor who did my first surgery (I can’t say which place this is). I ruled that place out and came to the hospital where I had today’s removal. At the first consultation there, I wasn’t fully convinced, and even at the second consultation I still wasn’t fully convinced They said it was hard to predict the shape, and if I was worried about collapse they recommended leaving support in place. I didn’t feel absolute certainty about a lot of things, but they also explained how they would handle problems if something bad came up during surgery, and they answered questions well during the consultation. I had consultations scheduled with ㅍㄹㅁ, ㄱㅇㅅ, ㅅㅇ, ㅊㅁ in August and September, so I was torn about whether to wait longer. To be honest I had surgery on other areas besides my nose too, so it was a total major overhaul and it was a complete failure, and I really went to the brink of death.. This is the hardest period of my life so far. The other areas are harder to fix, so I figured I should at least remove the nose as soon as possible. Of course, the doctor also said it was fine to do it now. And among the clinics I had consultations scheduled with, I wanted to definitely go to at least one.. I also saw some bad reviews for this place and a few for others. Of course, my hospital probably has bad reviews too, but there was a big gap between reviews, and I’d already lost my desire to go to the other places, so I booked surgery (since results differ from person to person, I’m not recommending the hospital where I had removal, and I’m not saying the other hospitals are not recommended either!!) • Surgical details: proceeded with full removal without support / after surgery they showed me photos of the surgical process and explained how it was done / after removing the silicone they said it was broad and they shaved it down / they said the tip area had fairly severe adhesion (apparently autologous costal cartilage tends to adhere a lot) / they said the right columella was in bad condition and showing a tendency to collapse, so they tied the cartilage / since they said it was absorbable thread, during the consultation right before surgery I asked whether, if they opened it and tied it, it would be absorbable or non-absorbable thread; they said that also depends on the condition, but when I asked whether absorbable thread wouldn’t be inappropriate if it was showing a collapsing tendency, they told me, a bit sharply, “Ayu, you’re worried about the thread too? You’re concerned about the thread too, huh?” That hurt me a little.. I wasn’t saying I was worried or concerned, I was just asking whether it was absorbable or not and, since they said it depends on the condition, I thought they would use the appropriate method for a bad condition, so I just said okay and moved on I didn’t say I was concerned or worried sigh.. Anyway, I asked again because I was worried, and they said this degree was fine even with absorbable thread, and that even after the absorbable thread dissolves and disappears, it doesn’t return to a collapsed shape. They said non-absorbable thread doesn’t keep its fixing force forever either, and the shape is formed as scar tissue adheres and holds it in place / they showed me an odd-shaped photo because the nose tip was dropping and the nose had a sagging? strange shape, and said they tied the columella with absorbable thread too / they also showed me the tied photo, and the strange shape was gone / they said the nose tip had thinned so they did a tissue graft (filling it with scar tissue!) Fortunately there was no collapse like a saddle nose during surgery, so there was no cartilage reinforcement And there was no packing, splint, or taping either.. • Pain and swelling on the day of surgery: It hurts.. it hurts.. it hurts so much.. I took medicine and feel better now, but it hurt a lot when the anesthesia wore off As soon as the injection went in, I said, “I’m scared,” and then immediately passed out The swelling is huge too!! It looks like a total Avatar face slap • Hope after surgery: I really, really hope there’s no shape distortion and that when people look at it, they won’t think, “Huh? Something’s weird with the nose?” I want it to come back to a normal nose I didn’t even need alar reduction, but because they reduced it and even did osteotomy, it got completely slim and looked like a weird nose Right now, with Avatar-level swelling, the nose actually looks prettier^^ I’m so, so afraid of the swelling going down, and I also hope the width of the nose spreads out a bit so it stops looking so skinny Anyway, please, please let it settle into a normal shape without drooping or being over-lifted and become as pretty as my original nose!!
