I had the buried-suture method done a very long time ago, but one eye doesn’t open well and feels slightly sleepy. It feels like ptosis. I avoided large hospitals and places that heavily promote a one-doctor clinic, and had consultations at two places said to be good at revision eye surgery.
ㅊㄷㅍㅅㅌ - Recommended full-incision surgery to trim some of the stretched eyelid skin and help the eye open better. (They didn’t use the term “ptosis correction,” but that’s basically what the surgery is.) Since it’s a full incision, they said the eyes could be swollen for 6 months, and that the issue isn’t the double eyelid line, but first making sure the eye opens properly.
ㅇㅇㅈ - Recommended only non-incisional ptosis surgery, without needing double eyelid surgery. Since it’s non-incisional, swelling lasts about 2 weeks, but because the surgery is done from inside the eyelid, vision may be poor and it can feel like the eye is being scratched. They said if the correction doesn’t turn out well, it can be corrected again, but in some cases the double eyelid can disappear, and then double eyelid surgery would need to be done again. I have to work, so I’m worried about being uncomfortable seeing, and honestly, when they listed the possible side effects, I got really scared.
That’s how my consultations went. Is there anyone here who was in a similar situation and can share what kind of surgery they ended up getting?
