Since I am only 1 week post-op and don't know much yet, I will keep the information private for now and post it at 1 month. People here who have seen my posts so far might already know.. haha
My breast asymmetry was severe, so I had 270 placed on the left and 325 on the right. The reason I chose Mentor Extra was that naturalness was my top priority, and when I touched them myself, Mentor Extra had the best feel. It also happened to have FDA approval. And I preferred smooth over microtexture. When I read papers, I saw that although it is not common in the U.S., because microtexture has side effects that smooth does not, some hospitals do not handle microtexture at all (I mean BIA-ALCL). But I heard they slip easily, so I am going to wear my corrective bra diligently.
Since it has been a week, I went for a follow-up! They said there is no inflammation, blood pooling, or capsular contracture, and everything is fine. As for the shape, in my own opinion they are slightly spread apart, so I am working harder with the corrective underwear. I thought it would differ by hospital, but it turns out the corrective bra differs depending on the breast condition?? I naturally thought they would give me that skin-colored corrective bra with the middle open, but the nurse said mine needed to be gathered a little more, so from the first day she gave me a white sports-bra-style corrective bra that covers everything up to the nipples. It is convenient because I can take it off and put it on with hooks in the front.
Sensation... I am praying it comes back lololol. The right side is about 30%, and the left side is about 20%. I have no sensation at all on the lower breast area. But since I feel zapping sensations here and there, maybe that means sensation is coming back?
For pain, I think it would be fair to say that although I am not completely pain-free, it is close to painless. On the first day, breathing was so hard because of the compression bandage, but I washed my face and walked around fine. From the day after taking off the compression bandage, I moved around muuuuch more normally, and I could wash my face and tie my hair low. Since I am really timid, I was scared to raise my arms, but around day 2 I practiced raising them little by little, and rather than pain, it felt more like pulling? On day 4, I couldn't stand it and washed my hair while bending my head down.
