It has been one week since I had surgery with Director Park Seong-woo at Avek Plastic Surgery. I had the tip done with ear cartilage and septal cartilage, and the bridge with silicone (4.5 mm).
During the first consultation, the director explained everything in detail while drawing it out for me. Overall, because my nose is short, has a slight hump, and is crooked, he said it would be good to correct the deviated part, perform hump osteotomy, and design the tip to project a little longer. We also discussed making the silicone 6 mm and using a custom implant.
I looked up many reviews and deliberated over the design by myself, so I had another consultation because I kept thinking about the details. At that visit, I asked how the nasolabial angle and nostril shape would be designed. They reflected my ideas to some extent, and since those were already things the director was planning to consider during surgery, the consultation went smoothly and I decided to proceed. In the end, we agreed to lower the implant slightly and go with 4.5 mm.
On the day of surgery, the director went over the design and possible side effects in detail, and I went into surgery thinking I could trust the process. The surgery ended well, and while I was recovering in the recovery room, the director came by and explained that the surgery had gone well and there were no major issues during the operation.
Right after surgery, because gauze was packed in my nose, breathing was extremely uncomfortable, and blood kept flowing so they kept changing the gauze, which was very uncomfortable. On the first night, I slept while breathing through my mouth, so my mouth dried out and my head hurt. I think I woke up about once an hour, and my nose felt cold and burning, which was probably the hardest moment.
The day after surgery, once the gauze was removed, it felt like I had found light again because breathing became so much easier. I had some pain, but the bleeding gradually decreased, and since breathing was comfortable, I felt as if I had basically already recovered.
On days 3 to 5, surprisingly, swelling rose a lot in my cheeks and jaw area, so my face was very puffy and looked quite strange. Still, the pain kept decreasing, so aside from the discomfort of the splint, there was nothing especially hard.
On day 7, after removing the splint, I was more swollen than I expected, but the line came out long in the shape I wanted, the nostrils became smaller, and it did not look like a straight 11 shape from the bottom, so I think the shape itself came out well. There is still swelling, so my overall appearance is not pretty yet, but I think it will gradually get better. For a man, the nose really changes the overall impression of the face, so now that I have had surgery, I can feel that my face's overall vibe has improved, and I am satisfied.
