First of all, I’m from outside the area,,, not even Busan. Double eyelid surgery is supposedly pretty well-known in the area where I live too, but people said everyone ends up with similar-looking eyes, so I went around for consultations in Busan since it’s relatively close. My criteria were, first, places with ideally a single director as much as possible, no consultation fee, and where I could consult with the director. 1) ㅋㅇㅇㅈ I went once because my friend had hers done there. I had a consultation with Director ㅇㅈㅎ. Honestly, I don’t really remember much. It felt like the director was just repeating what the consultant had basically already said. It just seemed like a place that didn’t suit me. I did like that they seemed to provide good aftercare and their minimal-incision surgical method. 2) ㅈㅅㅎ First of all, the clinic feels a bit old-fashioned. There aren’t many reviews, but it seemed like they don’t make overly excessive recommendations, so I went. I heard the thing that always comes up in reviews tooㅋㅋㅋㅋ They said not to ask for something natural, but to go for something pretty, and I think that’s true. As for the line itself, it was an in-out line. They told me absolutely, absolutely not to do ptosis correction, saying my eyes don’t need it. I got another lecture here about ptosis. Overall, they examined me carefully. My eyes are suitable for both non-incisional and incisional methods, but they recommended incision. I wanted something slightly like a semi-out line, so I was a bit torn. I think I’ve also seen other reviews saying that this director seems to mainly do in-out lines. There’s no separate aftercare. 3) ㅈㄴ I had a consultation with Director ㅈㅅㅎ. The director was sweet. They explained things well in a very gentle way. They created the feeling and line I wanted. Since it would be my first surgery, they recommended the non-incisional method, and said my eyelids are thin and seem unlikely to come undone, so the surgery would likely go well. They said I could choose between an in-out and semi-out line. I was satisfied, then had a consultation with the consultant, and the topic of ptosis correction came up, which I don’t think I heard during the director’s consultation. Did I just not remember? But I really don’t remember hearing it? For now, I’m somewhat skeptical about ptosis correction, so that’s what I’m debating. Here, they said ptosis correction is necessary, so I’m conflicted,,, 4) ㅇㅎㅅ Walk-in registration. Only the consultant was available for consultation. They said consultation with the director is possible after setting a surgery date. I had the consultation at what felt like the reception desk by the door. It felt somewhat lacking in professionalism, like an old beauty salon. Honestly, from the perspective of choosing a clinic based only on the consultation, it appealed to me the least. But it’s a place famous by word of mouth, and even if the consultation wasn’t great, if many people go there, there must be some reason. 5) ㄷㅁ First of all, the consultant’s energy is no joke. The order was consultant consultation, then director consultation, then consultant consultation again. When consulting with the consultant, how should I put it, their consultation skills were the best. If I were judging only by the consultant, this would be my top pick. But during the consultation with the director, it wasn’t the feeling I wanted,,, It was one of the places I had the highest expectations for, so that was disappointing. They said the line I wanted absolutely wouldn’t come out. I liked that they seemed to have a very strong philosophy and spoke firmly. Maybe I was also being indecisive? But because of that, I’m really conflicted. They said the part I dislike the most absolutely couldn’t be done elsewhere either, and if someone says they can, I should get a firm answer and try it there,,, I’m easily swayed. 6) ㅇㅇㄹㄷ Director consultation. The line was just so-so, similar to the others. I didn’t completely love it. I liked that they said ptosis correction wasn’t necessary and that I didn’t have to do it. This was the only place that said I only needed double eyelid surgery and didn’t need epicanthoplasty/canthoplasty. The director doesn’t seem to add excessive options. 7) ㅇㅇㅂ I went straight into a director consultation. They tried making lines on my eyes many times. They even drew lines on my eyes and tried both sides, which was nice. Both in-out and semi-out lines are possible. They recommended partial incision. They did not recommend ptosis correction. They said it would be better to have the surgery first and, if later I feel it’s needed, do ptosis correction separately then. That made me trust them a bit more.
