My nose was a severe bulbous-nose case, and you know that blunt, spread-out tip? It was hopeless, the whole thing. On top of that, there was a slight hump when viewed from the side, so I was honestly furious because of my nose. I also had some rhinitis, so since I was at it, I looked into functional nose surgery too. My needs were exactly one thing: a look that is natural but still glamorous, that polished, refined vibe. And I was worried that if I got alar reduction, only the tip would look like it had been pinched with a clothespin, so I wanted to skip that and just raise and refine the tip elegantly. After looking around at several places, I decided to have surgery with Dr. Jeong Young-hoon at ID Plastic Surgery, who really understood exactly what I wanted!! I hated the idea of putting in implants like silicone because I was worried about side effects, but the doctor reflected my needs perfectly and decided to go without implants, smooth out the bridge line with hump correction, and firmly raise the tip using donated rib cartilage! When the doctor and I finalized the design, I kept saying I really hated a thick-looking tip and asking whether it was possible to improve the bulbous nose without alar reduction. The doctor smiled and reassured me that if the tip was tightly secured with donated rib cartilage and set upward, the spread-out bulbous look would be handled completely even without separate alar reduction, and it would look slimmer. I honestly felt a huge surge of trust lol Because I also had functional nose surgery for rhinitis at the same time, I remember the surgery took a while. Even on the day of surgery, with the splint on, I could already see that the tip looked slimmer. Even though I did not get alar reduction, once the tip was lifted with donated rib cartilage, the wide nostrils naturally came together more neatly. The bridge line where there used to be a hump also became smooth and straight, so it is exactly the refined, three-dimensional, not-overdone line I wanted T_T Since it was done without implants, I think the foreign-body sensation is less too, and because I also had functional nose treatment, I feel completely relieved lol Breathing through my mouth because of the packing is a bit hard, but seeing the line makes everything worth enduring~~! I cannot wait to show off my nose everywhere.
