The double eyelid surgery I had before gradually loosened on one side over time. It was never perfectly symmetrical to begin with, but after it loosened, the difference became big enough that my eyes looked like different sizes. One side opened clearly, while the other side looked covered, and the line was barely visible, so it bothered me a lot. After the consultation, I was told that it wasn’t just a matter of recreating the line, but that the difference in eye-opening strength also had to be corrected together. So I ended up having partial-incision revision surgery and ptosis correction together. Honestly, revision surgery itself was stressful, and since I teach, I was even more worried about recovery. Because of my class schedule, I couldn’t take a long break, so I was afraid that if the swelling was severe or recovery took too long, it would be a problem. But once I actually had the surgery, the swelling was much less than I expected. I had already braced myself because it was revision surgery plus ptosis correction, but daily life wasn’t greatly inconvenienced and recovery was fairly fast. After surgery, as the loosened line was re-set, the balance between the two eyes became really good. Before, one eye looked smaller and more constricted, but now both eyes open similarly and the eye shape feels much clearer. Maybe because ptosis correction was done together, my eyes also look naturally larger, and overall my impression feels much more refined. What I like most is not just that a line was created, but that my uneven eyes were corrected. Before, every time I looked in the mirror, I kept focusing on one eye, but now the balance between both sides looks right, so I’m very satisfied.
