My upper body always looked bulkier than it really was because of my upper arms and axillary breast line, and that was a lifelong source of stress for me. Even when taking photos, I always had to lift my arms, to the point that I had my own angle for pictures.
Wearing short sleeves or fitted clothes felt burdensome too, so I used to wear an outer layer over short sleeves every day.. But because of my body type, my upper arms were a mix of fat and muscle, so they were the kind of arms with a lot of muscle packed in, and the shape was pretty uneven.
After worrying for a long time, I did a lot of research and went to a few consultations, then suddenly made a reservation and got liposuction, and now I've already reached the 4-month mark. What I feel is that, more than weight changes, the line change is bigger~! Especially since the outer arm line and the axillary breast area got cleaned up, the overall look of my upper body changed, and people around me kept asking if I lost weight, so just that alone feels like a huge improvement in quality of life.
I had the surgery in winter, and now that summer is finally here I'm excited.. The same clothes I wore last year make me look much slimmer now, so I'm really satisfied. The areas I'm happiest with are the axillary breast area and the outer arm line! The fit difference when wearing short sleeves in summer is really huge. I keep catching myself looking in the mirror from angles that make it look as dramatic as possible;;
Even because of photos and things like that, if you start thinking about surgery, I recommend looking at multiple reviews and choosing a hospital that does design well rather than just one that removes a lot. When I was looking for a hospital, I went to consultations at 3 places on the same day, and there were criteria that mattered to my decision. 1. Whether they explain the lines carefully 2. How postoperative care is handled
I definitely chose based on those criteria, and after surgery I went for weekly follow-ups and got checked in the middle too, so the anxiety got resolved right away and that was great. Even now, at 4 months, I still think I made the right choice. The initial swelling lasts longer than expected, so don't get too impatient!!! I think it's important to manage your mindset and take good care of it through months 3-4.
In the end, after surgery and weight loss, the style change is huge.. If I used to only wear clothes that covered my arms, now I have more confidence to wear sleeveless tops and fitted short sleeves too Recently, when I went out for plans wearing a skin-tight dress, friends kept telling me I looked like I'd lost weight, and I'm planning to keep up my diet and exercise habits and even try to hit my target weight of -10 kg exactly!
