I had seen so many review posts while looking into double eyelid surgery. The before photos were bare-faced, and the after photos were retouched selfies taken from far away. Those kinds of reviews are pretty, but I felt like I couldn't actually see how the eyes were operated on, because everything was covered with makeup. I also had a really uncomfortable memory from when I was researching surgery, so I wanted to write a review showing how things change over time with a bare face and no retouching at all. The reason I started looking into eye surgery is not any different from anyone else, so I won't write too long. My eyes were small and I did not have double eyelids, so I wanted surgery. But more than I expected, cosmetic surgery seemed to have a very high barrier to entry. There were too many hospitals and too many reviews.... I set my own criteria and went around for consultations, but now that I think about it, it would have been better to do just a moderate amount of online searching and then go straight to in-person visits. There are many things you do not notice from reviews, and you feel them a lot during consultations. One reason I decided to have surgery at [Clinic A] was this kind of impression. In my case, they clearly pointed out that eye correction was the right procedure for me. When I said I wanted to avoid incision scars, they said non-incisional surgery was possible, and they recommended only a slight inner and upper canthoplasty, but not the outer or lower corners. They explained the reasons clearly, so I felt a lot of trust. (There are also many hospitals where the coordinator handles all of this during consultation.. choose according to what the surgeon says..) Because it was non-incisional, the swelling along the double-eyelid line was not severe. The side where I had canthoplasty still has some swelling, though. So the inner corner of my eyes is still a little puffy, but they told me to expect about a month for recovery, so I am waiting calmly. It has been 2 weeks, so there is still some swelling, but I like that I now have a double eyelid and that opening my eyes feels easier. My bare face still makes the double eyelid look a bit thick, but with makeup it looks just right. I hope the swelling goes down just a little more from here. It is still only 2 weeks, and the hospital said it would go down more, so I will wait patiently! I ended up writing a bit long because I was rambling lol If you have any questions, leave a comment. I will reply to what I know!!
