I originally lived with monolids, and in my 20s I had double-eyelid surgery for the first time with buried sutures. I preferred a natural look, so I chose a moderate height, but after about 2 years one side came undone. I started debating whether to have revision surgery, then the other side loosened too, and I also started feeling eye fatigue more often, so I decided to get revision surgery. I really didn’t want to go through revision again, so I visited five or six hospitals, and each one gave different opinions ranging from buried sutures to incision to fat grafting. Incision didn’t match my personal aesthetic, and I wanted to get back to daily life quickly, so I decided on buried-suture surgery. I also didn’t want a factory-style plastic surgery clinic, so I chose a place that only does eye surgery, and I picked the one with the best reviews plus the one where I liked the shape when they actually folded it for me. The doctor also carefully looked at the shape that suited me and combined it well with my own thoughts, so I could trust them and go ahead with the surgery. The surgery took about an hour, the major swelling was gone within a week, and it took about two weeks for me to get back to normal daily life with only minor bruising left. Right now, it has become exactly the shape and height I wanted, so I’m living very satisfied. I just hope it doesn’t come undone again and lasts forever lol
