It is day 5 after surgery with full incision and fat removal. I had consultations at five places in total: [Clinic A], [Clinic B], [Clinic C], [Clinic D], and [Clinic E]. The other places all recommended eye correction plus front and back canthoplasty with an incision, but only here did they say, "Do you really need eye correction?" I also had a negative view of canthoplasty or eye correction, so their opinion matched mine. I made a same-day reservation at [Clinic C] and [Clinic B], but maybe because there were not many patients, it felt pretty relaxed. I was deciding between [Clinic D] and here, and after believing my friends who said the best thing is to do it where you get a good feeling, I booked the surgery. The staff were not extremely kind, but treated me appropriately and kindly. When you set the line with the director, make sure not to only have one eye lined up, but check both eyes before deciding! I only set the line using my left eye and went into surgery, and now that I think about it, I should have checked both sides. For anesthesia, they first used sedation before local anesthesia, then while I was asleep they did the local anesthesia, and woke me up again before starting the surgery. In the middle, they asked me to open my eyes to check the eye line. This is important because I heard there are hospitals that put you fully to sleep from the start, and then the line can end up asymmetrical, and they cannot check it in the middle, so that would feel pretty unsettling. The swelling will probably go down gradually. I also saw posts saying it turned into a sausage eye, but that would probably just be because the person got greedy and asked for the line too high, or because the suture was fixed too deeply, and I do not really know about that part. I found that while searching for reviews after the surgery, so I thought I should write this for anyone like me. Anyway, surgery is surgery, so please search carefully, and I hope everyone gets beautiful double eyelids!!
