Before-and-after of entropion + front canthoplasty

First of all, the thing that stressed me out the most before surgery was my eyelashes constantly poking my eye It had been like that for almost 5 years, and I had been going to the ophthalmology clinic for more than 4 years, but each time they basically said to just keep observing it. But at the ophthalmology clinic I went to this time, they said it would be better to have surgery now, so I started looking into it seriously.. But the eyes are the very first thing people see on your face, right? Fixing the functional problem was important, but I was really worried that scars or my impression might end up looking strange. So instead of only looking at ophthalmology, I also searched plastic surgery clinics, read a bunch of reviews, and then went for a consultation. What I was concerned about was 1. My eyelashes kept poking my eye 2. The front corner looked a bit sharp, so I seemed harsh 3. There was a sunken scar at the front of the eye Those were the three things, and I explained all of them during the consultation! After the consultation, they said entropion correction was obviously necessary, and that if I also did front canthoplasty restoration and outer-lower canthoplasty, the overall impression would become softer. The front canthoplasty restoration was not about closing it a lot, but just doing it very slightly to make the front corner shape rounder, and for the outer-lower canthoplasty we decided to keep it natural rather than overdo it haha The surgery itself was better than I expected, and the swelling and bruising were not as bad as I had worried. But to be honest, in the early stage after surgery I was stressed about the scars.. Especially the part where the front canthoplasty restoration was done and the area that already had a sunken scar looked very red at first. The stitches were also coming out toward the front, so every time I looked in the mirror I worried even more and thought, maybe I should not have done this.. Honestly, I had those thoughts too But when I went back for a follow-up, the doctor brought up that part first ㅇㅇ and said it was still early in recovery and that it would calm down a lot over time. He also showed me progress photos from other people, so I think I felt a bit relieved then. Now that some time has passed since the surgery, it has definitely become more natural than I first feared. The front corner no longer feels as sharp as before and has a rounder look, and although I would not say the sunken scar is completely gone, it bothers me much less than before. That said, there is still a little redness from the scar, so I am planning to keep watching that too If your scar-prone, I think recovery speed may differ from person to person. And the thing I am happiest with is the entropion correction haha Just not having my eyelashes poke my eye has changed my quality of life. Before, there were many days when my eyes felt irritated and I felt a foreign-body sensation, but after surgery those things are almost gone. Overall I am satisfied, but it is true that my mind was shaken by the scars in the early stage after surgery haha So if there is anyone who gets worried when they see early redness like I did, I want to say not to judge too quickly.. I thought it was ruined at the time too, but with time it improved much more than I expected. Time really is the answer
