I kept meaning to come write a review, and today I finally got my stitches removed lololololol Honestly, I wasn’t really going to come... I didn’t want to upload photos, and I wondered if my eyes wouldn’t look that effective to other people, whether this would help, what if I get treated like a broker, and so on? But I received a lot of help from this community, and I’ve seen many people struggling with revision eye surgery, so I’m posting this for reference and for people to read when they’re bored.
If it’s too long, you can start from the exclamation marks below~
First, this was the condition of my eyes. One side had mucosal eversion, the ptosis correction fixation was high, the line was thick, and the end line was thick because there were two lines + very severe dry eyes. On the other side, the ptosis correction actually wasn’t done properly, the line was very thin, a really perfectly uneven pair of eyes.
I had it done at a neighborhood clinic, but they didn’t even show me the line, didn’t tell me whether it was non-incisional or incisional, charged me for sedation anesthesia and didn’t do it properly. They said if the mucosal eversion was lifted, I could pull it down with my hand. Then why did I get surgery ^^ Maybe they also thought it was botched, because I kept having revision surgeries at that same clinic. Eventually I got exhausted, stopped going to the clinic, lived like this, and 6 years passed.
Then I found out about revision surgery, and thought I should do it while I had the time and money, so I started researching online. Even to me, my eyes looked difficult, so if a clinic seemed even a little good, I added it to my research list, and before I knew it the list had 30 places. I thought there was no way I could visit all of them, so except for the time I slept, I searched every cosmetic-surgery-related community. Even if the information seemed useless, I looked everything up: good reviews, bad reviews, what the doctor was like, what the clinic was like. That’s when I felt what people mean when they say time matters for online research lolololol. In the end, I narrowed it down to 7 places.
Since I was coming up from outside Seoul, I was so exhausted, and when I thought about going for 3 days, it felt so hard that I wondered, do I really have to do this? In the end I was so tired that on my way home, I canceled all the places where I had put down reservation deposits. Out of three places, two canceled right away, and one clinic told me to at least come in for a second consultation, so I went. Honestly, I’m bad at saying no lololol. I went, and they said they understood I was more worried because it was revision surgery, and the doctor also said it wouldn’t get worse.
In the end I fully decided on surgery, but I was still very worried right up until the surgery. When I went on the day of surgery, what surprised me was that I think they checked the preoperative line about 10 times (20 times didn’t seem right, so I corrected it... lolol) I don’t know if it was because it was an eye-specialty clinic, or because my eyes were revision cases and difficult, but even during surgery, they had me open and close my eyes so many times. And what surprised me again was that when the doctor told me to open my eyes, they sat and looked, stood and looked, looked while tilting, and I thought, so this is why people say surgery should be done in Seoul...
From the middle of the surgery, the pulling sensation when I opened my eyes decreased, and I was so surprised that I could open them comfortably. Something this good, seriously... The surgery finished well and I came home, and my mom said it really turned out well. I couldn’t tell though lololololol
!!!!!!If you only want the surgery review, start here!!!!!!
Today marks exactly one week. I had my progress checked and got the stitches removed, and the mucosal eversion improved a little. Every clinic I went to told me not to be greedy, and I heard that mucosal eversion is the most difficult surgery. Maybe because my eyes were so severe, I also didn’t have huge expectations and just hoped they would improve even a little from where they were. The doctor also said they didn’t know whether the mucosal eversion would be completely corrected, but that it would improve somewhat. They said perfect symmetry would be difficult, but honestly I’m so satisfied. First of all, my eyelashes used to be lifted straight up, so forget lifting them with mascara, I was busy trying to push them downward instead. Now my eyelashes are... not lifted up lolololololol The lines on both sides definitely match too. They said it would get even better once a bit more swelling goes down, so I’m really happy.
Honestly, it feels a little uncomfortable to state the clinic information openly in the post. The doctor’s skill is good by my standards, but it’s also a bit risky to trust only my review and be certain this is the only place. If anyone is curious about the information, I’ll tell you, but I hope you go only for reference. Whether you go, like it, and book surgery is up to everyone, but I hope my surgery review is only used as reference! Also, I hope only people who really need revision surgery ask for the information!
Thank you so much for reading this long post. It was such a hard time, and I feel a bit relieved now. Everyone, let’s find the clinic that truly fits us and make sure there are no more surgeries. If you have questions about the clinic information, surgery method, or the clinic, you can ask!
+++++ Addition I didn’t know this many people would leave comments and that so many people needed the information... I’m giving it when people ask, but it feels like it has gotten too big, so I’m a bit scared too. As I wrote in the main post, just because a doctor was right for me doesn’t mean they’ll be right for everyone, and just like there’s no doctor with absolutely no dissatisfaction about them, I hope you view my review strictly as “for reference”! As I leave comments, I wonder whether it’s okay to share it like this, but I had no review-discount condition, and I wanted to return the help I’ve received so far, even if only like this.
