(A post for people considering canthoplasty + under-eye fat surgery before/after)
* Why did I become interested? I felt like I was reaching an age where the fat bulging under my eyes when I smiled no longer looked cute, so I first considered under-eye fat repositioning. While looking into it, I found out there was a simple canthoplasty procedure that felt like a pinching technique. I thought, since I’m doing it anyway, should I try them together? I was originally satisfied with my eye shape, but I was curious what it would be like if the outer corners were opened just a tiny bit, like IU’s soft, cute, wistful eyes.
* Why PR Plastic Surgery? I found out about it through a ㅌ event, and saw reviews saying they were the only place doing a procedure called “Heart Canthoplasty” and that the director’s technique was not bad. I also liked that they use dissolvable sutures, without the process of tying and removing black stitches like typical canthoplasty surgery. (Of course, there were also many reviews saying the effect is weaker for that reason.)
* Why did I decide to do it? I decided after being told during consultation that, since under-eye fat surgery involves cutting the mucous membrane under the eye anyway, doing it together with lower canthoplasty would be less burdensome for the eye. (Since I was already interested, I felt like I’d do it someday anyway..) I didn’t think about it deeply.
* Surgery process? Consultation > reservation > visit on surgery day > payment > consultation with the manager > change clothes > meet the director, and the director personally takes photos > design and consultation > enter operating room > receive a vitamin injection as a service and prepare for surgery > “The medication is going in~ How do you feel?” > 3 seconds later I opened my eyes in the recovery room (woke up from sedation) > I was thirsty and asked them to bring me water, but they said they’d give it to me a bit later; > my eyes hurt like crazy.. I was worried and asked them to bring me a mirror, but they told me to look later while changing clothes;;;;;;; > went to change clothes, looked in the mirror, freaked out + shed a few tears of regret ㅜ > since I was almost the last surgery slot and they seemed like they wanted to go home.. I sympathized as a fellow worker and went home ㄱㄱ
* Immediately after surgery My eyes wouldn’t close (photo 1) They were extremely swollen, I developed sanpaku eyes (I absolutely didn’t have that before), and my eye shape looked strange, so I sobbed .,,, ㅠㅠ I was worried, so I searched every lower/outer canthoplasty post in this community and left comments and everything. Especially the conjunctival edema in my left eye was so severe... I was really worried. When they say daily life is possible right after surgery, I think that only applies to people whose daily life is just staying at home.. Social life such as going to work is absolutely impossible.
* Swelling and conjunctival edema (corneal edema) care To reduce it as quickly as possible, I drank pumpkin juice almost instead of water / used eye drops and cold compresses every 30 minutes / took oral medications diligently / always used cold compresses while sleeping + tried to sleep sitting up as much as possible >> As a result, the conjunctival edema improved very quickly as in photo 3 (currently the conjunctiva is only slightly swollen and just red and bloodshot), and the swelling around my eyes went down so much that my coworkers didn’t notice.
* Current satisfaction I’m quite satisfied. My eye shape seems to have changed slightly, but just as it has returned while the swelling went down over the past 5 days, I’m expecting it to become more natural gradually at 1 week/1 month/6 months.. However, there is scar tissue where I had the outer canthoplasty, and the mucous membrane is fully exposed, so I think it may be bad for eye health. When I blink, it feels very stiff, and the outer corner of my eye hurts like a wound healing. (It feels so fragile that if someone bumped into me while passing by, it might tear right away..) Honestly, since it was cut with a scalpel, this much seems very natural, and I think I need to keep watching the progress.
**Summary and conclusion** Because it was a somewhat impulsive surgery, the shock immediately afterward was big, but after managing it diligently, I feel like I’m seeing positive effects after surgery, so I’m satisfied. I think I shouldn’t get anxious too hastily. + (Even so) if I become interested in another cosmetic surgery next time, I think I should think it through more carefully before doing it.
