It has already been 10 months since I had the 3-contour surgery, and time feels both cruel and incredibly fast. In the early days after surgery, my face was so swollen it looked like Bread Man, and my neck hurt so much that I remember staring at the mirror every day and looking miserable, wondering when time would even pass. But now there is no unnatural feeling at all, and it has become completely comfortable, just like my own face. Honestly, around the 6-month mark I thought all the swelling was gone, but comparing it to old photos now at the 10-month mark, I can see that even the tiny residual swelling from then has fully disappeared too, and the line has become much slimmer and smoother. The protruding cheekbones that stressed me out the most and the harsh shadows typical of a square jaw have completely disappeared, so my impression has become so much softer. Now, even if I take random photos with the default camera without using a retouching app, my face shape comes out beautifully in an oval shape, so being completely freed from camera filters is what I am happiest about. Fortunately, the sagging skin I was worried about has still not become noticeable, but since the amount of bone was reduced, I want to keep my skin elasticity, so lately I've been diligently applying firming cream and thinking about getting lifting laser treatments sometimes. Functionally, I can now open my mouth wide enough to bite into things like lettuce wraps or a handmade burger, with more than three fingers' width, and the feeling of my jaw joint catching when I yawn is almost gone. The numbness around my chin tip and lower lip, which worried me the most, has now returned by more than 95%, so it doesn't affect daily life at all. Only very occasionally, when my body is extremely tired or the weather is chilly, the chin tip feels slightly sharp or has a strange, someone-else's-skin kind of sensation, but the doctor said sensation can keep coming back even after more than a year, so I'm planning to wait patiently. When I was struggling through the first few months, I briefly regretted it and wondered if I had spent money just to suffer, but now that it's been 10 months, every time I look in the mirror I feel my clothes fit differently and I can confidently change my hairstyle too, so I really think this was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life, with no regrets at all.
