I had double eyelid surgery with an incision before, but even as time passed the line stayed too thick and kept looking puffy like sausage eyes, so it was stressful I thought it would become more natural as time went by, but even after several years it stayed the same, so I eventually started consulting for revision surgery. This time I really thought it would be my last one, so I researched everything very carefully, and I had natural-incision revision surgery together with epicanthoplasty. I visited several places for consultations, and maybe because the place I had surgery was a private clinic, the consultation atmosphere itself felt calm and detailed. I was drawn to the doctor's long career, but what I liked most was that during the consultation, they did not just give a rough explanation; they actually touched my eyes several times, checked the line, and explained things while showing me. What I cared about most was whether the sausage-eye look could be fixed, and they talked very realistically about why my eyes currently looked thick, what the skin and scar tissue condition was like, and how low the line would need to be to look natural. It did not feel like they were just saying anything was possible in a flashy way; instead, they also explained what was possible and what the limits were, which made me trust them more. I had epicanthoplasty too, but rather than opening the inner corner too much, they designed it as a slight improvement to the parts that felt cramped, and overall it felt like they valued doing the surgery naturally without looking obvious. Right after surgery, honestly, I worried a lot because of the swelling again lol. They said it would last longer because it was revision surgery, so I was mentally prepared, but I still got sensitive every time I looked in the mirror. But about a month later the line gradually got thinner, and the feeling of opening my eyes became much more comfortable, and especially the thick sausage-like look that used to rise up so much really loosened, so my impression looked much softer. Now I do not feel burdened even without makeup, and people around me usually say my impression just became more natural rather than asking what I fixed, so I am satisfied. For people looking into revision surgery, I really hope you check not only the flashy reviews, but also whether the clinic properly looks into why it failed and how detailed they are during consultation. What I realized this time is that eye revision surgery is not just about making the line again, but about fixing the root cause of the previous problem.
