My eyes were not especially clear to begin with, and I felt like I used a lot of forehead muscles when opening them. When I took photos, my eyes looked a little sleepy too, and the inner corners looked cramped, so I looked into eye correction and epicanthoplasty together and ended up getting both. At first, I felt a bit burdened because it was incisional surgery, but while discussing the line they explained it in a way that matched my eye structure, so I felt somewhat reassured. Rather than making them bigger no matter what, they talked about organizing the parts that looked cramped in my current eyes, and I liked that. For the epicanthoplasty, they also aimed for a natural connection instead of opening it too much. On the day of surgery, I was more nervous than I expected, but once I went in, time passed in a blur. When I looked in the mirror afterward, I did wonder if this was really right because of the swelling, but I could still see the line, which was fascinating. The inner corner felt a little tight, and maybe because of the eye correction, the feeling when opening my eyes was clearly different from before surgery. During the first few days, I mostly stayed home because of swelling and bruising, and I kept doing cold compresses. My eyes also felt a bit dry, and when I smiled or made facial expressions, the epicanthoplasty area was a little distracting, but it gradually became more comfortable over time. Since it was incisional surgery, the swelling did not go down all at once; it felt like things were settling little by little day by day. And I got forehead Botox as a free service lol. They said it would be good to get it together because I tend to use my forehead muscles a lot when opening my eyes, so I got it. At first, my forehead felt a little awkward, but as time passed I felt less tension in my forehead and the habit of using it when opening my eyes seemed to lessen a bit, so personally I’m satisfied. It’s not fully settled yet, but my eyes do look clearer than before. The epicanthoplasty also isn’t opening so obviously that I was worried about, which is a relief, and the line is becoming more natural as the swelling goes down. For people who are considering incisional eye correction and epicanthoplasty together, I think it would be better to leave more room than you expect for the swelling period, and for epicanthoplasty, not overdoing it is really important. I also worried unnecessarily while looking in the mirror at first, but with time things have settled little by little, so I feel relieved. Since I’m still recovering, I’ll need to see the final result more, but so far I’m closer to glad I did it. Opening my eyes feels easier than before, and the sleepy look I used to have in photos has decreased, which is what I’m happiest about.
