A long-awaited revision surgery for asymmetrical eyes (+ long post)

If you read my previous posts, you'll know that 10 years ago I had double eyelid non-incisional surgery on both sides plus ptosis correction, but because I was born with different eye-opening strength on each side, my right eye was droopy from the beginning. I was so scared of doing it again and thought a revision might fail, so I never even considered revision surgery, and for years I deliberately kept my eyes wide open when I walked around, but it gave me headaches and there were so many uncomfortable parts. But now that a lot of time had passed, and my asymmetry looked really severe in every photo, plus it was uncomfortable to force my eyes open, I went around to compare clinics. I went to 7 places in total. Among them, there was one place that ran the program in a very detailed way, checking things like the iris ratio and the degree of canthoplasty, and when I said I always force my eyes open, they noted that the left eye, which was not droopy, showed too much of the pupil and wondered if it might be overcorrected. But everywhere else they only said it was not overcorrection and that the left eye opened better because of Hering's phenomenon. The only place where the director there immediately pointed out that exact issue said that the left side would be loosened with ptosis correction and the right side would be fixed to open a bit more. At that point I thought, finally I found a place that was on the same page as me, so I put down a deposit right away. The remaining places were hard to book, so I went thinking I might as well consult them just in case. First I went to [Clinic A], and they said that only the right side, which does not open well, would need incisional ptosis correction. They said that if the right side were corrected, the left side would naturally come down because of Hering's phenomenon. When I told them the surgery method from the place where I had already left a deposit, they said that doing ptosis correction on the left eye would involve something called blepharal retraction, and that you should never do something like that carelessly. They were very firm, saying there is nothing good about operating on the normal side, so I was a bit stunned, wondering if that was reality, and I couldn't even ask other questions. I wanted to slightly raise the line while matching the asymmetry, but they said if I raised it too much I would end up with a sausage-like look, so I felt they were very realistic. I came for a light consultation, but I ended up very confused T_T Then I went to the last place, the one that is really hard to book, and they said that if I had it done, only the right side would be enough, but because the inability to open was congenital, it might not be necessary at all. Maybe I got turned away because it's a clinic specialized in very severe eyes! Even after I left, the manager said I could just go home, so I couldn't even hear the price. Anyway, after thinking about it for a few days, I ended up canceling the place I had originally reserved because it felt too aggressive and they kept saying everything was possible without explaining a single side effect, and I booked [Clinic A]. -- From here, this is the review of [Clinic A] -- I told the staff manager that I didn't care about the date or time and wanted the earliest possible appointment, and she found one two weeks later. Originally I wanted to get a second consultation before surgery, but my house was far away and it was hard to book consultations, so I gave up and watched the director's YouTube videos, thinking it would be fine and feeling reassured lol On the day itself, the waiting time was still long, and it was about 40 minutes total until the operating room. I told the manager everything I wanted, and it seemed she communicated it to them outside. The director came in, said that the left side would get the line raised with non-incisional surgery and the right side would be the main focus for reinforcing eye-opening strength, did a bit of design work, and then the surgery started right away. Even before surgery, the design work was extremely careful! Since the right eye ptosis correction was the main part, I think I opened and closed my eyes about 10 times during surgery. Right after it ended, they showed me a mirror and said to watch it for 1-2 more weeks, then rushed out again lol Then after surgery, while I was lying in the recovery room, the director came in and said that because it was ptosis correction and because of Hering's phenomenon, they needed to see it after some time had passed, and that we should watch it for another 1-2 weeks, and even told me that they had lifted it more again because it wasn't opening well at first. Right after surgery, there was not much swelling, so it seemed like the pupil exposure ratio on both sides was similar, but now the incisional side is swollen, so maybe there is not much difference from before. Still, thinking about how it will gradually go down makes me so satisfied!!! It has only been 3 days, but if you really want safety-first and natural results, I strongly recommend [Clinic A]. I've suffered so much because of this asymmetry, and I feel like this is good enough. If I had gone to the place I had first reserved, I think I would have damaged the side that did not need to be touched, so I feel incredibly relieved now T_T If anyone has asymmetrical eye concerns like mine, try getting a consultation.
